I'm outraged at how full that bus is. Clearly contravenes H&S laws.

TBF when I played football I wore decent "quality" boots. The best pairs I had were a pair of Adidas Rubbers and believe it or not a pair of Hi Tecs! Team mates laughed at the Hi Tecs til they saw how long they lasted!

As for Mr Mac's last comment, I will slightly disagree, as a current NL footballer once wore a white pair of boots in the first half and a Pink pair the second. The reason he gave (to his Dad) for changing them was due to the conditions? (They were the same Nike Boots just in different colours)? Basically a fashion statement.

Being mildly serious here I actually think footballers probably get it a bit harsh in modern society. The ones who play in the Premier League have to be supremely fit more so than in every other era and live there lives more as athletes, if they didn't they would be nowhere near that level. We are also in the era of social media and smart phones, they get away with absolutely fuck all.

Yes they are rewarded massively but I'd imagine paying a 50% Tax the Premier League and all of these Foreign owners do plenty for our economy, and the clubs seem to media train and educate the players in how to deal with the money. It is very rare you see stories about top footballers being out and pissed these days, a lot of them don't touch a drop.

I bet as well, if you bumped into players from the 70's 80's 90's on a night out in that era a lot of them would behave like arrogant pissed up bellends, thinking they could chat up any woman in the vicinity. Now they wouldn't get away with that for more than five minutes without it ending up on the front of a Newspaper.

Every era has it's pluses and minuses but life and sport evolves. If you don't like it change sport as easy it was to change club in 2002.

No they don't, there's always someone to look after them

Just like a load of lads out on a weekend do now? They were for the most part not that well paid and still socially mixed with the people who came to watch them, not locked away in some gated community feather bedding them from life
Now they wouldn't get away with that for more than five minutes without it ending up on the front of a Newspaper.
Generally speaking, celeb news wasn't that important as it is today and papers tended to concentrate on the news. Nobody was remotely interested if Billy Bremner had swapped his viva for a Capri

Every era has it's pluses and minuses but life and sport evolves.
Not necessarily for the better, most top flight players are remote from the fans and obsessed by shiney things and money

I've never been annoyed by a footballers appearance or what they choose to wear.

I do find it very refreshing though when one wears simple black boots.

Something very aesthetically pleasing about that.

Living their life as athletes and getting away with absolutely fuck all isn't limited to Premier League footballers and others with similar pay packets. An easy example to cite is Dan Carter, the highest paid rugby player in the world, who earns about 1/10 of Paul Pogba's salary. Got caught driving over the limit recently and absolutely did not get let off by the press. And nobody who's ever watched a top level rugby match is going to claim the players are anything but super athletes.

That said, I don't give a guano if Pogba decides to have the silliest haircut in football or Ronaldo wears different coloured boots on each foot and has a third one dangling from his back like a tail. There's no point keeping your expressiveness to yourself, or to put it another way, no point being an old fart before your time (or even after your time).

If you have a cock on your head, you can use your dictaphone, hence improving communication :ugeek:

You could use it as an aerial .
