Two very poor teams today, on a shit pitch. If we'd have approached it differently we could have taken 3 points easily.

No idea why Thomas was virtually a wing back, and why we persisted playing long high balls for so long.

If we'd have got it round the back more we would have done some proper damage.

Special mention to Oates, ran himself into the ground again, did really well for our goal, and didn't give up despite being injured for at least the last 15 minutes. Fryer looked a bit shaky, the defence wasn't as bad as it could have been, but most were disappointing, particularly Hawkins.

The pitch was fucking terrible. I'd expect that amount of bobbling on the Sunday pitches I play on, not League Two.

I think Fryer should've done better with both goals. One of the things I'd expect from a very young keeper is speed and agility and on only seeing it once from a fair distance I felt he could've done better with their second, yes it was a decent strike but it was at a nice height and looked saveable to me and having played in nets myself when I was younger I'd have been disappointed - bearing in mind, I've only seen it as it happened, I might change my mind when I see it again ;)

The first goal was poor. And whilst I don't blame Fryer for anything leading up to the goal, I felt he was poorly positioned when Ameobi shot - from where I was the ball hit the back of the net in the centre of the goal. Odd.

Donnelly's distribution was poor. Nearly every long ball he hit in the second half went into touch and he couldn't blame the pitch because is was barely moving and he wasn't under any pressure.

Thomas was never in the game. Not really a pitch to try dribbling at pace on though, it really was bollocks.

It was one of those games we could easily have won. Nothing in it at half time which surprised me and I was fairly confident of at least a point. That all changed with the ridiculous first goal after 47 minutes..

Really pissed off after this game because it was winable and they took the three points without really deserving them or having to work very hard.

Bunch of arse.

I think the fact Featherstone had to play as makeshift centre half was a real sign of how threadbare our squad is, especially when you remember he was filling in for Walker who was an attackiing midfielder at the start of the season.

Both keepers looked shaky but we didn't capitalise on the errors theirs made. Thomas wasn't in the game first half as everything went down our right side. As others have said, Oates ran his puddings out and had to play the last 10-15 minutes with cramp. Another sign of our lack of depth!

I think baring any major injuries we'll have just enough to stay up. How did things get so bad that we need to see how close to the edge we can live? How small a squad we can have and still finish 3rd bottom?

That's the approach isn't it? Just trim the squad but ensure finish 3rd bottom
