"Dover boss Chris Kinnear keen for on-loan Hartlepool midfielder Nicky Deverdics to extend his stay"

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dover/sport ... cs-121468/

Anyone think Jones will be having him back?

In Deverdics case it only can be to save money.

Not because he simply did feck all to warrant keeping him at the club aside from one free kick?

Assuming he's built up his match fitness and confidence at Dover he should be coming back. That's why Jones said he'd allowed him to go out on loan, but we'll see.

Woods is playing well at the minute but is always a potential accident waiting to happen with his injury record and the way he goes in for 50:50 balls.

He's not a centre midfielder that has been part of his problem, he plays off a striker for Dover or in the hole, he's only ever played in the centre of midfield which he too lightweight for in this league or one of the wide positions for us.

In the hole...that would be a few yards back from a central striker in the... er... the centre of midfield?

Obviously he's not a defensive central midfielder but then neither is Woods. Woods likes to put his foot in sometimes whereas I can't recall Deverdics going in properly for a 50:50 ball, let alone tackling, but without a doubt they both do their best work in the opposition half of the field.

Yes? No?

We played Featherstone "in the hole" under Hignett so wonder why not Deverdics?

I think I saw that he's managed 3 or 4 assists while he's been there

Featherstone playing in the hole amounted to him standing about 5 yards further up the field than he normally would.

Otherwise it was the same old receive the ball, turn, turn again, pass 4 yards to the side. He's looking sharper and more incisive now.

No it's not the centre of midfield, it's an attacking position. Allessandra played in it on Tuesday night, we're playing 4-2-3-1 at the minute which accommodates that exact role.

Little Featherlite should be put in a fucking BIG hole. And left there. Run the midfield? He couldn't run a bath.

He had a good game the other night. Specifically "watched" him.

He is the least of our worries.

He gets criticised because he keeps the ball, imagine only keeping the ball. Oh and he doesn't smash into players which is what a holding midfielder is paid to do?

Featherstone does a job of sorts, He is picked because he is playing for a bottom 3 league team. If we wish to progress next season he needs to go. If we keep him and Woods we replicate this season's results.

I disagree obviously he has things he doesn't do well but in a better team within the right players around him he would look a far better player.

Similar to Chunky we were saying during the first on Tuesday night (when we were struggling) that we'd be in serious trouble without Featherstone, he's the best footballer at the club. I've been frustrated with him in the past but he is a decent player.
