Mr Stocksfield, it will be incredibly difficult for you to have a balanced view on this because of your history and fully understandably so, I would no doubt be the same if I were in your shoes, but views formed with a heavy emotional element can often be skewed.

Just look at the decisions you (that's the plural 'you') make when you're angry. Rarely good ones.

None of us can fully question stocksfields motives and views, unless we were put in a similar situation.

I suspect I would have gone on a killing spree had a paedo got at one of my kids.

Louis Theroux made a good documentary about American paedophiles and their treatment, and rehabilitation in some private prison/centre. It is well worth a viewing.

I think I saw it on Netflix.

The Louis Theroux documentary is called "A Place for Paedophiles", where he visits a Mental Hospital with more than 500 convicted paedophiles who've already been released from prison.

Thankfully I have no experience of this and I hope never to have to go through it. Much as I intended to post a reasonably intelligent contribution to this, if someone sexually abused my daughter or son then I don't think I would be looking to have a debate with them. I'd want to kidnap them and go to work with sulphuric acid and a hammer drill so I find it very difficult to criticise Mr Stockfield's position on this.

I watched an interview with a paedophile a while back, this bloke claimed that had never actually given into his urges but had thoughts and he explained the successful treatment he was recieving. He also said that it was like having two warring factions inside him. The first exhibited desires whilst the other knew it was wrong and the risks involved. Some control the urges, some do not but he did say that the treatment works. This seems to me to be the way forward. Make asking for treatment less of a stigma and treat those who do ask as effectively as possible.

On the other hand, I find the fact that this organisation could openly exist and be supported by some on both sides of politics unbelievable.

I can fully understand the thing of wanting to do a perpetrator in, but it surprises me that not more of them are killed or even hospitalised.

I think he's a rare case. Speak to anyone who has worked with nonces and they will tell you that they can't be 'cured', or even behaviour managed. They will find ways to get access to kids, some of them extraordinary in their deviousness.

They can't be cured - not even my friend God can do that.
Their attraction to kids cannot be changed.
Some can change their behaviour though, if not their thoughts, cof course they can - and with that needs to come positives in life, things to look forward to and feel good about yourself, as well as damn hard work looking at the reasons for offending.

What's the percentage of offenders who work through their problems and successfully control their urges? I wouldn't like to guess, but they'd have to be already caught and locked up to even consider going on a programme, or being totally honest in a programme. And the experts will tell you that many of those who do these programmes do not engage properly, but simply say the things that others want them to say. Many others cannot do programmes because they are still in denial.

Basically, the attraction stays, and a few can control their urges.

As for lads being sexually abused and turning into abusers themselves, well a good percentage of them do, but that will generally be the ones that do not have a loving and supportive family to help them through it all, and those that have been abused by close family members.

Amen to that.

This scum was at the game again today. Stood in the mill house stand halve way along watching the kids take penalties. Was my brother that thought it was him and now after looking him up on the web was definitely him with a ratty beard.

Yes he was there today, also spotted him.
