I remember Johnny Marr saying that he had to ring them at a exactly a certain time so they could pick the phone up straight away to avoid noise pollution. rolfl

Kraftwerk are, methinks, fooking great.

The Man Machine is one of my favourite albums of all time. Can't beat a bit of Neon Lights or Spacelab.

They are German though. A bit of a drawback, but if you ever have time, Autobahn's definitely worth a listen. And I mean you'll need a bit of time... it's 22 minutes long! :laugh:

I was out of order for my "music nazis" jibe for which I humbly apologise. :uhoh:

Bit cranky after the 12 hour trip home (with the M1 shut) and straight into work on Tuesday to get;

"All that mud you must be mad"
(tickets bought in April, Hottest summer ever predicted, global warming eh?)

"Bloody rubbish what I saw on TV"

"All them new bands were rubbish, Shirley Bassey was good tho'"

All of them armchair Premiershit supporters who laugh at me going to Pools. banghead

As to Glasto being better or worse than before, that's a whole debate in itself. It's still got more to it than the other major festivals due to the variety on offer (and the fact you can take your own beer in).
The superfence changed it for ever. It may have lost it's "edge" slighty but the gangs of scallies steaming down the campsite robbing every tent they could is a welcome omission.

Still, where else can you randomly pop into a smallish tent and be treated to Glen Tilbrook running through Squeeze classics on an acoustic guitar? 45 minutes of bliss. It's little surprises like that which still make it worthwhile.

I'd heard a little of Gogol Bordello a couple of years ago and thought that it was fun, a bit different. Then I saw them at Leeds last year and thought they put on a brilliant live show. Liked them a lot, probably in the top 5 bands of the festival.

They are on the main stage this year.
