Just looking at the remaining games with some trepidation. Typically you need between 45 and 50 points to be safe, that means we're looking for around 11 points plus. To date we've averaged exactly a point a game which would leave us on a very dodgy 46 for the season. In some seasons 50 wasn't enough to reach safety so ideally we need to be around 50+ to be sure of staying up.

Where are the points coming from? There are some very tough games coming up and games against promotion chasers aplenty in the last month. This makes the matches against Crewe, Orient Cheltenham and Notts County utterly crucial.

FEBRUARY
Saturday 25: Colchester United (a)
Tuesday 28: Crewe Alexandra (h)
MARCH
Saturday 04: Exeter City (h)
Saturday 11: Notts County (a)
Tuesday 14: Cambridge United (a)
Saturday 18: Wycombe Wanderers (h)
Saturday 25: Blackpool (a)
APRIL
Saturday 01: Portsmouth (h)
Saturday 08: Morecambe (a)
Saturday 15: Carlisle United (h)
Monday 17: Leyton Orient (a)
Saturday 22: Barnet (h)
Saturday 29: Cheltenham (a)
MAY
Saturday 06: Doncaster Rovers (h)

We've just took a decent point off the team in 2nd. Home form is crucial. We need our experienced players back and quickly.

We're going to win the next five.

2 things need to happen for me for us to have any hope of staying up :

1) We need to get injured players back quickly- Donnelly and Magnay especially

2) We need to bring players in. We had one outfield player on the bench yesterday with some level of first team experience. That wont be enough to keep us up. The Chairman said 3 weeks ago there were plenty of quality out of contract players available- get some signed then, the club received plenty of money from outgoing transfers in January so there has to be money available.

Regardless of the result/performance yesterday, we actually dropped 3 places. One good performance a month will not stop us going down. Let us not forget Jones has 2 points from 5 games so far, and Pools have 6 points from 9 games in 2017. We haven't won an away game for the thick end of 5 months.

I'd say we need to win at least 5 of our last 14 games to stay up. On current form that's a big ask looking at those fixtures.

I'd be amazed if anyone came in of any note. Surely if it was going to happen it would have been last week as we are down to the barest of bones. As you say yesterday of the bench you could realistically only see two actually being used at any point and those are the two that came on, oh and it looks like one of those in now injured.

Coxhall was nowhere to be seen yesterday, I've never known him to miss a Saturday game, he might have been on important JNPG business whatever the fook that is as it's been established the recruitment business that bought the club don't exist anymore. Seriously the signs aren't good, he has disappeared off social media now he's not even at the match.

Chip for me it's not whether 8/9 of those players are here next season it's whether HUFC in its current guise will be. We are plummeting like a stone in every area of our existence.

Chip I agree about unity of support and ironically in seasons of adversity I tend to attend more games from my Kent 'home'. Colchester will be my third away game on the trot - but so far I am reminded of those dreadful re-election days when we never really even could muster a shot!

The club feels like it's on life support, wired up and in a coma. The 'family' are gathered round the bed but aren't ready to turn the life support off just quite yet.
I suspect we'll just be fed the same old line till the end of the season and nothing will change.
Let's face it, we're hostages to fortune ...... We're being shepherded to seasons end and it would help them if we just went along quietly and didn't make a fuss.
