It's absolutely shameful that we're a throwing kid like this into League football, hopelessly out of his depth this could destroy him for good the crowd are already on his back, a 17 year old.

Somehow though it remains 0-0.

Get in indeed. However for the record I fully agree with the first post, it's not the lads fault he's picked and cranks getting on his back should hang their heads in shame

Agree 100%

It's why I posted it people screaming 'get him off' at him and the like, although not aimed at the kid probably either but still at same time not helpful and could ruin him.

Careful, you'll be slated in a minute by a few fans who feel it's fine to abuse your own players, as they earn enough money to be abused (their logic not mine).

Never a fan of getting on players backs unless they fully deserved it (baker calling the rink house fans wankers at the end of his first stint is an example).

I fully agree that it is wrong to get on a young lads back. It's not his fault he is playing but let's be fair he looks totally out of his depth at the moment but who else is there?

He has the makings of a very good player, and physically he is going to be massive when he grows. He needs encouragement.

Totally agree - did you see him run through/ over their big fella on about 85 minutes? Awesome.

Harry Redknapp when questioned on why he's playing 17 year old Frank Lampard. Sometimes these kids need putting in the first team.

Thought he grew into it and had a decent game overall. Shaky start but so did most of them.

Not at the game today, but this lad can pass and control a ball. He does the simple things well when in possession. He needs fans encouragement and Dave Jones should stick with him. Has real potential.

He played ok, played safety first mostly which wasn't a bad idea really. Didn't he start on Tuesday so it wasn't his debut. Reasonable game for a 17 yr old got over his initial nerves.

He was skinned very easily by Kennedy four or five times, but to be fair Richards wouldn't have done any better against a winger of his quality.

Richardson could be one for the future; meantime I hope Donnelly is fit for next week.

He grew into the game and has earned the right to be at least considered for the next game. Fair play it couldn't have been easy. Shocking that some of the crowd even thought it was acceptable to barrack him. Total knob heads.

It was the same for Ian Clarke. His first game was a mare but he came good and the fans loved him because he tried. Things are bad but Plymouth haven't beaten Pools over two games this season. That in itself is pleasing for me having seen The Dockers go on holiday early at Home Park last May. What an embarrassment that was and with such great support. Maybe today and a bit of backing from the crowd will lift them.

We won't get anything at Colchester, never do, probably our least successful away trip of any. We need to concentrate on the Crewe and Exeter home games which follow.

Me neither. Plenty of abuse directed at the lino and at various Plymouth players play-acting, diving in the box and trying to get our lads booked. Decent atmosphere.

It took the Millhouse making some noise to get the Town End going though, which shows how far things have gone off the boil in the past 5 years.

I thought he did OK, the problem was when you looked at the back 5 there was a lack of a proper leader, not a criticism of any of them individually but when you think Harrison at 23 was the oldest.... we needed a talker and we always looked vulnerable to me. The whole team put in a good shift today, but you can't help wonder what would have happened if Plymouth had scored early.... Could have easily seen heads drop. We almost need a Gary Brabin type - not a footballer, but a hard so and so who will lead by example and scare the opposition. That's not the game of any of them on view today, though if was encouraging to see a few challenges going in. We looked like we were gun shy as well, trying to walk it in, Oates wad a little more direct and was MoM for me.

To balance this after the first 15 minutes the Vic was actually at its best today right behind the team every kick.

From my seat in the Millhouse stand i have only heard encourgement all season.
If a few individuals out of 3000+ are griefing them i dont suppose the players will hear it anyway.

I've not seem much evidence even in games where we have been getting beat that the effort isn't there, we are just lacking in quality in a lot of cases and experience in others.

The fans can either get behind the team and try and help them stay in the Football League or they can behave like complete not nice people and get on their backs. No idea what slagging your own players achieves like.

The reality is that we are in this latest mess for a large number of reasons, and the kids thrown into the team at the moment would be at the back of a very long queue of people that are to blame.

Totally agree. We are in a dogfight but most of those out there today ( and the manager) cannot be held responsible. We need to get behind them until the end of the season and just hope we can scrpe together enough points to keep us safe,.

Our record against Colchester isn't that shabby actually, at least nothing compared to Luton and Scunthorpe.

Its amazing how different people see the game so differently. Yes the kid started a little shaky, but as been said so did most of the team. I thought he grew into the game and settled well, and had a decent game. One that hasn't took many plaudits was the keeper. Although he had limited tasks to do, but crosses he did come for he looked solid and confident. I felt comfortable with anything heading to the box.

I didn't hear anyone getting on the players back. A few moans and groans over a poor pass, poor clearance or cheaply giving the ball away but no real abuse directed at any one player.

Thought the crowd were really good and responds to the bit of fight the team showed today. That's all it takes, a bit of effort, chasing down the ball, getting a foot in etc....we don't ask much!

On our last 7 league visits to Colchester we have lost 5 and drawn 2, that's 2 points from a possible 21.....outstanding.

Pretty much mirroring our current away form. Bodes well!
