Didn't see the incident with Jones and assistant, what happened?

Shows how we all watch different games. Thought featherstone was pretty decent.

Luton pummelled the young'un at right back.

Got to feel sorry for Oates. Does well and then always gets dropped or moved out of position.

Sam clearly showed when he set that team up for the home win that he knows what is needed to win some games at this level.

Richardson is not only a youngster, he's also a winger. He may be able to play right back but to throw him in for his full debut away from home against a team we never do well against, playing in a position he's still learning is how desperate we are.

The lad has impressed me but we can only hope he's a confident lad or being thrown in the deep end so early could ruin his career.

The touchline incident I didn’t see either, Mitcham Dave told me about it at half time, said Jones looked like he was going to hit one of his assistants, proper slanging match he reckoned. It happens in football, first time Jones has actually expressed any sort of emotion

It was all kicking off until it got the the stage where they were going to take their tops off like school kids do before a scrap. Obviously Jones couldn't take his beloved jumper off so had to concede to his assistant.

If nothing else it shows he's really up for the job though. I've still got hope our luck will change and we'll pick up enough results to stay up it's looking like a bigger ask than Ronnie Moore's escape job since he was allowed to bring in players and the team actually had some belief by this point.

Chip mate, wasn't me. I was on about the Luton manager going mad in the dugout (wrong jones). He was getting frustrated at the amount of ball we were getting at the end of the first half. The 4th official had to calm him down. I never saw any passion from Our Jones I'm afraid.

You are spot on about the match though. Thought our keeper made a few excellent saves second half. Although we had loads of the play second half 3-0 felt like the right score line. We hit the post (I think) at the very end but I don't remember their keeper being tested.

Walker was actually quite good at the back. I thought he was better than Harrison

I have never known such a difference in opinions of the game. I listened to the radio and they were on about how poor Oats was yet some are sympathetic towards him. Others say the young fullback did well whilst others say he was roasted. Some say apart from first 15mins were OK others say we were CRAP. One thing I do know after watching goals is the defending was absolutely diabolical.

To be honest, there wasn't a point where I thought we would get anything from the game despite the few half chances we got. We got an ironic jeer when Thomas finally got in on goal in the second half only to blaze the chance over.

Hylton had a guilt edge chance during a period when Luton could have had a couple more. I actually thought Luton looked pretty decent first half.

All of a sudden the away games at County, Orient and Cheltenham look huageee

Listening to the match on the radio isn't a patch on being there though is it? Everything comes through the prism of the commentator, in this case Mr Magoo himself, Ivan Ash. Ash doesn't think Oates is a footballer. He might have a point, but he never tires of saying so; every fecking commentary is the same when Oates plays. On the other hand, he's not going to criticise a young lad starting his first game for Pools; that would be ungentlemanly.

The depressing thing about the goals on TV is they all started from Route One. How to score against Hartlepool: hit a long hopeful ball upfield, have a couple of big, mobile lads to chase down the defenders, wait for the mistake and ...Goal!

Why did Oates even start last night Amond had scored in two of three previous games before it?

Amond being in n out, unless he's injured, is utterly pointless. Rate him at this level or not. He's the only one capable of getting us a goal.

What's happened to paynter is he injured?

The only thing I agree with chip's assessment is Bates, Oates and Alessandra. The 2 full backs did not get murdered. Yes Richardson was beaten with a diagonal ball for the first, but we should persevere with him he is composed, tall and can pass a ball.

My lad who merely plays Under 16 Kent Youth league said the following and I agreed with his 3 points:
1. Pools were limited with at times the biggest threat being Fyrer's massive kicks. The keeper was good with his throws and claimed the ball well.
2. Richardson did well on the ball and hardly ever gave it away and we should persevere with him
3. 3 defensive blunders were game changers, why Dad do you not just bang it long from the back when under pressure and you play form where the ball lands said my William! Cannot argue with it.

My concerns are quite simply 2nd worst goal difference in league, 7 goals shipped in 2 games, 0 scored, frankly a management team where the coaching staff come out drinking cups of tea at the start of the second half, your leading scorer, albeit half fit, on the bench and no centre back on the bench when we have several young centre backs and the league allows 7 subs! Maybe there is one positive, Brad Walker, is never quick enough for centre midfield, but should be a composed centre back provided he can mark and win tackles. He gave the ball away twice and was turned twice last night. Hopefully he can up his fitness levels and read the game from the back by positioning himself to limit his lack of pace over 5 yards supported by Harrison playing the big, ugly, row J stopper. I now see why Hignett played 3 at the back at Crawley he would rather make it tight and lose 1-0, Mr Jones wants it fee flowing, which I applaud, but his record to date is worse than Mr Hignett's and approaching the status of Mick Docherty 1 point in 4 games! Improvements start Mr Jones by getting your back door closed first the on loan keeper will help but I shudder to think about Saturday at home to Plymouth.

Obviously listening to the commentary is not as good as being there but after all home games I switch onto radio tees immediately after the game walking back to my car and I do think Ivan Ash gives a reasonable view of the game as with Nick Loughlan and if it's bad they don't hold back.
I am also impressed with most of Eddie Kyle's views but as I keep saying it's all about opinions and we will never all agree on players and games. Except we accept Pools are dreadful at the moment.

Chips report is fairly accurate in my opinion. Apart from the first 15 minutes we did play some nice tidy football. Certainly a big improvement on Saturday. However basic mistakes at the back and a lack of bite up front continue to be our undoing. In the second half we had some chances and did hit the post. If that had gone in, while we were on top, we might just have managed a point. As it was another lapse at the back when Harrison tried to shepherd the ball out of play instead of putting it in row Z and we were 3 down with no way back. Plenty of effort and heads didn't drop after the early shocks but again nothing to show for it.
