Yes, the old style Toblerone as well.

Coxall offered to give Stelling's son a lift to games on Twitter not so long ago so i assume they're reasonably close.

From my perspective I have tried to support Coxall, instead blaming Goldberg who I believe to be a shyster, pure and simple. I still suspect that Coxall is desperately trying to keep the thing afloat today by mortgaging the future.

I've seen people complaining that accusations have been made without foundation so I'd like to deal with that.

First winding up petition was, we were told, an admin error. Some people said that one of the reasons that Russ Green left was down to his misadministration and that this was part of it. I find that a ridiculous suggestion given that one of the reasons for the breakdown in relationships at board level was that Russ Green kicked off about an attempt to transfer a very substantial sum of money to JPNG.

Second WUP was settled on the steps of the court and a we were told it was due to HMRC being over zealous in their debt collecting so again, not Pools fault.

Third WUP did not exist when we published it before Christmas and we were sarcastically referred to by a Journalists in Pools pocket as 'the detectives'. Coxall too denied it which was a straightforward lie. Not a mistake a direct lie. He could not have not been aware of it or if he actually didn't know then things are worse than I imagine.

Amongst all this Pools are borrowing money from shady people who have been prohibited from running a company after demonstrably ripping off suppliers and customers but Gary Coxall says he prefers to borrow from them as you can talk to the right people. Utter nonsense. At this level of finance you are not dealing with your local branch FFS, you will be doing business with an account manager. Furthermore, you do't really think the money came from Access Finance do you? They are a finance broker, they will have laid off the loan with a major lender who will have made the final decision.

Then we have the finance agreement with Sage Investments. In this case they look to be a decent outfit with some capital behind them. The question is of course what are they involved in?

In a few months Pools have gone from a club apparently without debt to one that every asset of the business is security on a range of finance agreements. Gary Coxall then makes a statement telling us that there is absolutely no risk to the club. Excuse me???

Peter Goldberg is no longer involved with HUFC. It's a fact. GC was quick to say that he was still involved with JPNG but off sick. Note he never mentioned HUFC in the answer, just JPNG. To be honest this is his modus operandi on Twatter. He picks and chooses the questions and gives completely non committal answers. It's an awful lot of words and vagaries but no substance. Frankly thats my opinion of the whole set up. Back to Goldberg; he has a long string of failed businesses behind him including his own accountancy practice! not that he's a chartered accountant mind you. We were warned about him by people who know him well and have worked with him in the past. You want a root problem? Well I give you Mr Peter Goldberg.

Gary Coxall however is doing himself no favours by blustering and lying. He's be far better off telling people the truth. He's no reducing the payroll where he can and the injuries to key players have robbed him of his get out of Jail on Feb 6th card. Between now and the court date, Pools need to come up with 106k. Probably 20k from the Grimsby game, a bit left over from the outgoing transfers and robbing every available money box might just get there. If not, Pools are history.

The finance houses won't mind as they have the security of the club assets. Now aren't you glad theres a ACV protection order on it?

Interesting post Mr I but a couple of bits don't quite stack up. Why would he be trying to raise £106k after the two loans? Surely you'd use some of that cash to settle the tax bill?

It also appears the new manager is imminent, one who doesn't appear to be a particularly cheap option and one who you wouldn't have thought would take the job without doing a bit of homework.

Whatever done or not done, I it's absolutely sure that the winding up petition from HMRC is for 106k and it has to be paid by Feb 6. The loans are difficult to be accurate as the amounts aren't in the public domain. One things for sure, you don't secure all assets for a small amount.

As for a new manager; we can make a judgement once someone has actually been appointed. Appears to be doth butter no parsnips.

Hate the bastads and rarely if ever use them. The semi-colon is the Nigel Farage of punctuation - doesn't do anything very useful and is as irritating as fuck. Nobody really needs something a bit more than a comma but a bit less than a full stop do they? Except for Germans. But even people from the most punctuation loving nation on earth mostly go for the full colon in preference to the flaccid semi effort.

[quote="Chip Fireball"]

I remember the Gibson days, when we were signing players he must have known he could possibly afford ; at a point when he must have known the club was going bust.

I spoke to GG on a number of occasions - he was very entertaining company - and he was very, very focussed on the need to keep selling players - and that was his way of avoiding 'going bust'; in fact he told a story of him ordering managers (towards the end of seasons when we were safe - oh those happy days!) to play certain young players - to put them in the shop window or to hasten their development - Ian McGuckin was one example.

Mr Louse you are talking nonsense. The semicolon is an invaluable punctuation mark when used correctly.
Pro-tip: if you can replace it by a full stop and the sentences still make sense, it's probably valid; if you can't, it probably isn't.

Time for an update?

1. How are we all now feeling about the club's finances?

2. Is GC a hero again?

3. Is it true that Donald Trump will ban anyone from entering the US of A who tries to use a semi - colon?

4. Do we really have to wear black jumper, white trainer combos tomorrow?

1. Still fucked - unless I missed the announcement that Bill Gates is a closet pools fan and is buying the club.
2. No
3. No clues, whenever he talks I'm mesmerised by his hair
4. Can't get to tomorrow game. Do I need to wear these whilst I'm in the house watching jeff on Sky?

Sage words indeed.

So if I'm reading this right, Goldberg hasn't been seen for about three months, then suddenly Dave Jones turns up looking like a crocodile what's just swallowed a gazelle, and it's all got something to do with this Duxbury woman?

It's paradoxical at the moment with Jones and his crew joining balancing the likes of winding up orders. In all of this Glee over the new manager let us not forget that Sage Investments are property developers.

If they're property developers then that surely adds more weight to Gary's plans rather than detract from them. They've presumably used their connections to get Dave Jones in and will do whatever they can go see their investment succeed.

I'd be happy to read any link to a football club and property developer ending well for the club.

Good point, no club means no need for the ground and a reduced price sale. I remember something similar almost happening at Wrexham.
