I can't think of a more proven one to arrive ever.

Clough was a newbie. Cyril Knowles had done some time at Darlo but nothing else. Maybe Danny Wilson comes close but no one else springs to mind.

There is a window of survival now. If Jones can turn the team around and have them playing attractive football then he can potentially fill the ground. That in turn could generate enough revenue for Pools to survive.

He's been out of work for a while but that doesn't detract from the appointment. Really pleased. Far and away the best option.
