has made me lose the will to live.

The longer it's gone on, the less likely any of our bowlers have looked capable of taking wickets. 2 wickets a day is now about the average!

I'm starting my holidays tomorrow but not sure I can face watching England bowled out for a 4-0 series defeat. Hopefully it'll be all over by the time I wake up.

They really shouldn't get bowled out on that wicket.

Being selfish, I hope Jennings doesn't get a big score. After last seasons' defections the last thing Durham needs is him playing regularly for England.

Not to worry - the selectors always favour batsmen from southern counties for home test series!

I didn't say we won't I just said we shouldn't! It's a terrible wicket for Test cricket way too flat. I suppose they did have an excuse in the build and did well to actually start the match on time but it's got flatter and slower as the game has gone on.

Oh well, been watching half an hour and seen three wickets go already. 129-4!

4-0 series defeat it is, barring a Christmas miracle (don't get many of those in India).

Me as well, switched on and watched the wickets tumble. For the last 3 tests India have made batting look outrageously easy.....oh and whilst typing Moeen holes out to mid-on.

I must also apologize to Joe Root, my get upntime has seemed to almost exactly coincide with him getting out (generally when well set). It appears players can have personal jinxing. He's had a lean year in 2016 Joe only averaged 49.3 or something, still superb but a slight drop in standards for his class. Still has a few years to peak as a batsman though, would like him back to number 4 ideally

At the risk of upsetting ElvisC with the musical reference 'dum dum dum, another one bites the dust'

And there we have it. Well played India well and truly smashed a developing England team in this series.

Time for England to rethink selections a little, too many all rounders plugging holes but plenty of talent out there to build on

The return Test series in July-August 2018 should be a cracker. That's a very good Indian side and they will be tough to beat even in English conditions.

India are very strong at the moment. Finally getting the organization to pick the best players from a nation of 1 billion people where cricket isn't just a sport it's more powerful than any religion. I expect them to dominate for a long while to come (especially at home :))

Do India still only get half a series* when they come to England or have they been upgraded?

* like they did in the 60s/70s

Great points MadJohn and that's certainly the historical evidence. Their seam bowling depth looks much better than ever before and I think the spinners are more based on accuracy than raging turners.

The big test will be for the batters against the swinging seaming ball. Either way should be exciting and we sort of need India to be strong and interested in Test Cricket to maintain its viability. Was looking like Ashes Tests would be the only on s anyone was interested in a few years back
