Right been away all week so watched a few films I have been desperate to watch for ages, and a couple of new ones.

New ones:

Dead Pool. 9/10 Great film, and very very violent.

The Big Short 10/10. Fantastic film. Loved every minutes of it.

Old films:

24 Hour party people 8.5/10. Steve Coogan was awesome, and so was the music.

Spike Island 9/10. Another great film. Well worth watching.

Always like dramas based on true stories and was even better being that I didn't know the story.

Worth a watch IMO.

Just watched "Look who's back". A kind of comedy fake documentary about Adolf Hitler waking up in 2014 and becoming a reality TV and YouTube star. It's strangely compelling and very funny in places. I think the film makers were trying to show how Hitler managed to get elected with a landslide of votes from ordinary Germans as he comes across as, well not likeable, but not entirely evil. Especially when he's giving the far right groups pelters for being complete losers.

Last night I watched Eddie the Eagle.

What a marvellous film. Not quite accurate, but a wonderful flim nonetheless.

Eddie the Eagle is funny without being a pisstake. I enjoyed it too.

If you like this type of humour(imagine an action version of Kevin n Perry or Inbetweeners) you'll be laughing your tits off but might not appeal to everyone.

The Best Part Time Band on BBC4. . Some good bands and some good music.. Far better than any x factor crap... Midge Ure comes across as a really good bloke too..

If you liked Making a Murderer watch the Central Park 5 on Netflix. Spot on documentary.

finally started watching Gomorra, series 1.

Proud of myself as I'm not cultured enough to watch foreign tv with subtitles usually

Up to episode 7 and really enjoying it. All about a Naples mafia gang and their battles to control the drugs trade.

I enjoy glorified / exaggerated US crime dramas (homeland, banshee, justified) but this just is not like that, very simple and despite having torture and killings, is very realistic. Definite recommendation

Eye in the Sky.
Very enjoyable fillum about a very sensitive subject in the use and collateral damage caused by drone strikes. Get to see the story from every side, the pilot's perspective being the most harrowing. Another good performance from Helen Mirren and the first serious role for Aaron Paul has done his career no harm.

Here's a few fillums I've watched with me Dad lately.

Hateful8. Tarrantino at his best. A bit slow early doors but worth the wait.......9/10

A Million Ways to Die in the West......... Hilarious 9/10

Delta Farce. If you want to sit back, and not think for 1,1/2 hours, then this is a good comedy.........8/10

Good Burger. I think it was mean't to be a kids fillum, but kept me Dad chuckling. Personally its 1,1/2 hours of my life I'll never get back......5/10

As documentaries go I watched a good one on Jake the Snake Roberts on Netflix. American wrestling not my thing, but was a really good documentary and to be honest I had a tear in my eye at the end........9/10

A few oldies I've watched recently:-

Reservoir Dogs, Classic brilliant Tarrantino......10/10.

Jackie Brown, another Tarrantino fillum.....8/10.

Slapshot. Paul Newman classic. Seems as good today as when it was released, never aged (apart from the fashion)......8/10.

just getting through the second series of Silicon Valley. Very funny.

Set in the early 80s about a number of housewives who start demonstrating Ann summers gear.

Mainly light hearted but could also get the wife in the mood if anyone needs help in that deportment

Sing Street - Really enjoyed it, think Commitments but for school kids.

the Mrs and I have just watched series 5 of Homeland, it's absolutely superb. Next series isn't until January on showtime which is a bit of a bummer.

Just into second series of House of Cards now on Netflix. Frank Underwood has got to be the best political character I've seen on the tele. I'm not usually one for "political stuff" but it's ticking all the right boxes with me so far. Gritty and enthralling are two words I'd use for it.

My latest Hits and misses on Netflix.

Soul Plane........ Miss.......not funny 4/10.
Hot Rod........thought would be good with Andy/Adam (I forget) Samberg (from Brooklyn 99)..... mediocre, same tried and tested "comedy" formula........5/10
Heist....Robert De Niro with some other blokes and women........class, very watchable action/drama........9/10.

The drummer does the pub quiz that I'd go to when I was in York.

He's proper weird.

And I'm fairly sure he can't read.

I watched Everest and found it boring as hell.
Maybe the odd cloud passing over, but the glaciers don't even look like they are moving. And you can't get close enough to see people climbing to the top. And what's more it gives you neck ache.

But on another note....watched this a couple of months ago and was blown away....(Making A Murderer blown away)....



SPOILER ALERT....It will make you cry....It will make you scream....it will make you angry....it will make you so happy you will dance and cheer!!!!

And ALL real footage....unbefuckinglievable story and 'amateur' film making!!!!

On a side note....our lass has never seen Kes....ever!!!! I reckon it will take at least 3 showings until she knows the actual story cos I'll be telling her the story as it happens....(a Man thing....explaining obvious things cos we feel we have to)!!!!

Already 'sofened' her up with a few trailers and youtube stuff....basically telling her everything about it....but I'll still talk all the way through the first 2 or 3 showings!!!!

I think I'll watch this Mr Mutley. Is it really better than making a murderer?

Completely different subject but I think it is more powerful....much much more!!!!

It's not a series....1 hour 40 minutes....but believe me with the amount of emotions you will show....that is enough!!!!

I honestly think this will be another 'Making A Murderer' moment on The Bunker....we will ALL be talking about it!!!!

PS....we just voted OUT of Europe!!!!
