What is it with pools fans on twitter, its like a love in! If fans are happy with the results this season and the end of last season then no wonder we are mediocre! are they so blind to the facts that nothing has changed and nothing will change under Hignett. I am in no way going to blame the chairman though, plenty pools fans wanted Hignett and Coxhall has backed him and trusted him to bring players in but im afraid the squad has'nt changed that much and is still unbalanced and missing leaders.

Twitter is designed for people who get a frisson of sexual excitement when the Chairman, manager, kit gadgie, substitute or whoever replies to them. A tweet in response to their inane sucking up validates their existence. Load of shite that is best ignored unless you love Stephen Fry very deeply.

Im not usually one to complain to much or vent my anger on social media but I was so fed up after todays result and thought id tweet Coxhall about Hignett being the right man for the job and then the Hignett loving brigade took over! The culmination of the last 6/7 years of dross just took over me and today was obviously my tipping point.

Completely understandable in the circumstances but I honestly don't reckon you ever get a sensible discussion about anything on there.

Fuck me it's one game. Yes we got a good hiding but how reactionary and short term are we going be these days and it's all linked to social media and the society we live in. Why Tweet the chairman? Was he playing? Do you think he's going say, ah yes lets sack the manager after one albeit, terrible result. No lets see how they react and improve from it. I doubt it was a Higgy love in, just people with some basic common sense. It's always the manager, change the manager and everything will be ok. Surely it's more collective than that, he wasn't playing either?

It's ironic actually that a hiding came this week because I was saying in the pub going through last weeks game (when we were superb) that I reckon this season we'll get murdered away from home a few times, we're way too open, but on the other hand we'll stuff a few teams as well and we'll see some cracking games. The makeshift back four doesn't help when our first choice back four is hardly George Grahams Arsenal, but I think we have plenty of ability in the squad. We need to obviously improve defensively a lot, finding a settled back four would be a start and settled starting eleven I do think he tends to change the team too much but some of that has been forced. I agree we should have signed a ball winner in midfield rather than two young strikers but it's early days and it's not been all bad. We have some decent players and players who have attributes that can be worked with and get better. Lets not go overboard it's a long season.

was the Bristol Rovers away game the last time Harrison started a league game for us? Didn't we ship 5 or 6 that game an all? Not pointing the finger at him but one of his interviews he said that game did major damage to his confidence. I imagine it's took another hit today.

You're right PJ but I guess folk are just thinking its Groundhog Day again.
Results have not been good enough and I reckon you'd too be hacked off if you witnessed that debacle today.

To be fair to often criticised/maligned blackhall/horden, he said exactly what you are saying before the season started regarding expectations for the season

I didn't witness and I'm hacked off, but it's not like early in the season two years ago or our last season in League One is it, we look capable of turning teams over and playing decent football we just look capable of having really bad days as well.

Right... so you weren't there today then? Cos we didn't look like a team who 'look capable of turnings team over'...

Yes, we have some decent players who could turn a team over, but if you were there today you wouldn't be chatting the drivel you are now.... We were beyond shite!

Paynter played attacking midfield and left mid when he came on... running around like a headless chicken.

No shape, no tactics... no guidance.

It's Thomas I feel sorry for. Probably the only player in the 2/3 minutes of the game he had the ball that did anything that resembled half decent football.

To be fair I think all he was highlighting was that there have been signs in games this season that we are capable of turning teams over - he didn't say we looked like it yesterday. And with respect to those who did go yesterday, I don't think you needed to be there to recognise we were awful

Yes I was......

I was there last week when we were excellent with 10 men for the full game. I get the anger if you were there yesterday but it's you don't need to take it out on me  One addition I'd make to the back four who would improve it straight away would be Liam Donnelly who looked really good against Newport.

I read all of those replies on there to coxall.

Jesus wept. There was some serious sucking up going on there.

If results continue to decline these same people will crucify the chairman if he doesnt act.

But reading it did make me feel a little sick.

I missed the 6th goal, I was busy writing an angry tweet at the time. I stopped reading the tweets to Coxall, it was clearly just people who hadn't been to the game sucking up whilst mugs like me are sat reading them on the way home. The sad thing was, Coxall was more critical of the players than a lot of them messaging him.

As for Higgy, it was most defiantly a love in, I don't think I've ever read the term 'we are lucky to have him' from so many people. In reality, he just didn't know what to do yesterday, defensively we were shocking so he brought strikers on and tactically we were abysmal.

I am not on Twitter but don't see the point in backslapping chairman etc when we get hammered. Just say we where shit we need to change and if not get rid it's that easy. I like managers that tell it like it is and if we get hammered just say they will know about it in training. I hate all this media crap with managers bring back honest managers like Brian Clough

I agree with PJ and last week playing with ten men was one of the best games I've watched for a long time. We are likely to go to Yeovil and stuff them.

Don't know about The Colonel, but I'm honestly, definitely 100% within my last couple of months on Social Media. Like you, I love to keep in touch with people and Facebook has been invaluable for things like my Running, Pools stuff, old mates etc...when I had the band going it was great for that too.

Lately I've had a few things happen that have really pissed me off, to the point where you just think..well, that'll do.

Must be an age thing. I know this New Years Eve I made a resolution not to suffer fools anymore, which I've managed to do in the "Real World" by losing a few "friends" deliberately and not spending time worrying about people who really aren't worth the effort..yet online, I'm continuing to converse and be involved with people who I wouldn't entertain "on the street".

Some of the so-called "banter" and "craic" on-line nowadays is just cringeworthy. Grown men, and I mean 50s and 60s, acting like children in a playground.

After years of involvement with things like the Messageboards, the Programme, Radio stuff, the fanzine (before all of those!) I fancy just returning to being a non-contributing, anonymous Season Card holding fan-in-the-street next season where I will withdraw from anything that attracts comment or attention (and therefore criticism!) in search of the quiet life, minus fools.

I'll go quietly, knowing that all I've ever done was for the good of HUFC and what I thought was right at the time. Honestly? I can't wait.

Going quietly will be very unbunkerlike.

I can understand why you want to get away from the hassle of such things, I've seen the knockers on here who generally wouldn't have the balls to say owt to your face.

You have answered your own question.

You want to talk to mates. Well talk to them.

Not post stupid pointless pictures of what you are having for your tea, or bragging about the £5k Holiday you are on, or posting about your new car, or bragging that your 6 month old daughter has just got her first pony. Or bragging about almost anything that has happened in your sorry life.

Compo, they above wasnt aimed at you obviously. Just a generalisation.

And any other fucking shite, most normal peeople dont want or care about.

And it wouldnt be so bad if your friends were just that. They arent. Everyone seems to have about a million, and 999,980 of them they dont actually know.

But apart from that, Facebook is ace.

The last year or so has certainly led me to agree with this.

I was talking about this with another poster from this board a week or 2 ago. The best place to be after a pools game is not on a forum or Facebook. Everyone's bloody Mourinho these days, everyone knows best.

The banter on here this summer was decent as it rarely mentioned football at all.

It's funny the main bunker critics are the people who claim to hate this place the most.

Why read something you hate?

Its quite funny how they critisise a thing which is just there for people to say whatever they like.

Someone posts something and someone else somewhere else blames the bunker.

Or the bonker the banker the hilds the blinker the candlestick maker.

This place is just to cliquey though. Cliques to the left cliques to the right and me stuck in the middle.

This place is so cliquey but no one can ever say whose on the clique and those on it, whoever they are, won't even admit to being on it.

It reminds me of that U2 song...

Where the cliques have no name.

Of course you can.

As long as you admit your undying love for maggie thatcher at the same time.

I do believe some anti bunker people use that fact against you.

But I know its not true. Thatcher was a woman.

I want a chairman that concentrates on giving us a decent team. How he communicates is of no interest to me. Though I would prefer it to be global communicating to all fans. Not responding on social media to individuals.

Like him or loathe him, KH was chairman during the best years of Pools history, Coxall has not earned the love he appears to be getting on social media. Nowhere near.

He doesnt deserve that love just because he is on twitter. And those fans constantly asking him stuff on twitter should really leave him to do his job. He has a fucking lot to do.

Gazza communicates with the fans and fair play to that.
But id rather him stay quiet and give us a team worthy to support.
Like iv said bfor talk is cheap.
Only promotion warrants Cult Status and that looks a million miles away.
Or this 5 game winning run this quality squad is capable of would be a start.
His qoute bfor the Newport game.

We live in hope as usual.

When we're losing he's always gunna get pelters online. Fair play to him for replying to people when he could easily hide.

He can't communicate with every single fan dibble, he talks on Twitter, in the papers, and turns up at fan talk ins, it's pretty decent if you ask me.

He can't control what happens on the pitch. He's backed his manager in the summer. He's got us the outside investment he said he would

Give him a break man

I didnt think I was critisisng him to be honest. He has done nowt wrong. But neither has Hignett.

They both need time, as do the players.

But there again, I cant remember the last time I attacked the players, yet I bet plenty think I do.
