If you have players playing for themselves surely as a manager you have lost them

Didn't hear the interview - suffering the delights of Virgin East Corbyn getting home - but if a manager said anything like that, then he must surely be fired...............

Just watched it and to be fair to Hignett he doesn't single anybody out and unless I've missed it he doesn't specify seven players either. Basically, he says what you'd expect - he has players who can do better and will bring them back as soon as he can.

I'd disagree with you but you could argue he should go because of results, you couldn't seriously argue that interview makes the case for a sacking stronger though.

It does my head in when people read into and take every word a manager says literally. We have just lost 6-1, he is embarrassed and is pissed off, like the players I'd imagine and he's speaking off the cuff. Let's see what happens next sometimes a game like that can be a turning point for a team and a manager.
