I know all the why and wherefore regarding this cup competition. BUT IF and I do say IF Pools got to the Wembley final would you go.

Despite not supporting the competition format,I honestly say I would go to Wembley IF we were in the final.

I suspect many from the town would be there too.

See how honestly you can answer the poll.

With the new format a club like Pools won't get to Wembley.

Good question though, I'd like to say no, plus it's hopefully going to last one season anyway.

If it continues I can see the final being moved away from Wembley anyway, two under 23 teams in front of next to nobody would be quite funny.

No.

I wouldnt be seen dead anywhere near it. Thats easy to say of course.

But I said I wouldnt go back to Pools whilst Green was fucking things up, and I ddnt.

And already been twice this season. And paid in for one of them.

I am sure in my stance though. I couldnt see the point in paying to watch the final of such a fraud event.

It's a spot on question. The final is always going to attract a good number of fans. Hopefully the point will have been made well before then though.

It is a very good question. One which plenty seem reluctant toanswer.

I just voted and said 'yes'.

100% understand why some wouldn't but pools may never get another chance in my lifetime. The protests will have already made their point and so don't see what me not attending would achieve.

All hypothetical of course......

The football league and the sponsors will be creaming themselves over this response.

They will think there is hope.

Like others have said. This is the thin edge of a very large and sharp wedge.

If this succeeds the b team and league fve will be closer than you think.

The best thing that can happen is the crowds stay law in every round. 2 under 23 teams get to the final n no fucker turns up when it should have its biggest audience. For that reason I wouldn't go, as I want the final to be mega embarrassing

Head says no, heart says I would love to see us play at wembley. I wouldn't go to any other game in this competition but I would probably did a trip to wembley with pools too tempting.

It's a difficult question only because we've never been to Wembley. It is no endorsement for the competition that people are saying they'd go. As I said though this format makes it extremely difficult for a club from League Two to ever get that far again. Plus imagine how diluted the whole experience would be if you were going to play Norwich U23s who would had next to no backing and those who went supporting the opposition would have no genuine passion or desire about the outcome because they would be 'supporting' not even a real competitive team.

Ideally the final will be played out between two under 23 teams or one and a team who have been to Wembley a lot. Hopefully it is a laughing stock with next to nobody there.

I can't stress how how important it is that this fails and is not allowed to evolve and continue, if it does this is only the start of the destruction of our Football pyramid.

Absolutely spot on PJ.

It has to fail. Fans have to get rid of their excuses for going. Its way too important to forego our potential future just so we can say we saw pools at wembley.

I doubt anyone would be proud to admit they were there anyway.........for a very long time afterwards.

Those with young kids need to understand that by giving in to this those kids might not have any team to support in 5-10 years.

This isnt a t roll saying this. Its almost everyone throughout the football league and some well established protest groups.

It is that serious.

Although some people seem to see red whenever PJ or The Colonel make a post (sorry lads but you have some anti stalkers I think) they have above in the last 2 posts made brilliant and well constructed points (for once haha).

Don't see how anyone can argue against or not see that the bigger picture here is potentially no independent lower league community clubs to support.

Also with this latest 'consultation document' issued by the FA it's obvious they are going to continue to prove and dangle carrots for B Teams, League 5, regionalization etc. I would love the FL to grow some and tell them to get bent, break away and make their own TV deal if it came to it. Let the Premier League fester away on its own with no promotion and relegation propped up by overseas armchair fans

Very well put.

The only comfort I take from the poll is that if you replicate the numbers at cardiff and if this vote mirrored the wider public view, then we are looking at about 7500 fans.

Whicb would look pretty shit at wembley and would barely get the sponsors excited.

But I cant take more comfort than that. Its nearly as worrying as the brexit poll.

I have even read somewhere someone comparing poolsgetting to this sham final as being as good as going to cardiff for the play off final.

Really????

I don't have a problem playing against 'proper' teams, but this idea of the insidious Top teams worming their way into the very fabric of the league is not a welcome development.

False maths there, a sizeable proportion of those who went to Cardiff haven't seen spools play since. If the chance of a day at Wembley and a weekend in London came along, they'd go...half a dozen on here making a principled stand no doubt turning up in dark glasses and flasher macs to watch.

It's all hypothetical in any case as we ain't going to get to the final....

I admire your stance but if pools were top of the league, unbeaten all season and had the chance to play at Wembley for the first time in our history, are you saying that you wouldn't attend?

I accept that scenario is not exactly what is being asked but the principal is the same surely.

I just think pools is a unique scenario being that we have never been to Wembley before and I'm sorry but I'd be there.

I decided about twenty years ago that I wouldn't go to Wembley again until Pools played there. I wouldn't go if we got through this year though. Decent fans organisations who are deeply concerned about the money-grabbers' plans for inserting their B teams into the Football League have called for a boycott.

It would be harder to resist going to a final but you can't back a boycott that only includes shite games that you might not bother with anyway.

Still only 45 votes. Thatd a pathetically snall sample.

Even brexit got more interest.

This is a good question albeit a hypothetical one. The question needs to be asked when, and only when, we get to the final. Then, and only then, will you get realistic voting.
At the moment I will say no I'm not going but ask me again if and when we get there.

If Mr Colonel, you had said this was a "pathetically snail sample", then there would be a reason for the slow voting! Surely? therethere

Maybe, but its hard to argue that voting was sluggish.
