Come on then. Who has told you this? Let's have your source for once? Considering everything else you have posted on here has been complete bollocks, show some, and tell us your source?

What's that saying go like, 'if you put a load of monkeys in a room with a set of typewriters by the laws of probability they will eventually come up with the complete works of Shakespeare'.

This has to be Cloughie's approach to FACTS

If he's gone today then why hasn't it been announced and why then can't you reveal your source?

So now we have gone from 3 bids tabled to actually having gone?

I'd imagine it's because he's making it up and talking shite. Saying three bids are on some mythical table and now he's gone proves this. Is he going to play for all three?

This is 'Blue Stripes' from back in the day, a wind up merchant and t roll. Best ignored.

That's not saying he won't go by tomorrow, I'd imagine plenty of clubs are watching him.

If these 'rumours' are substantiated, as long as Thomas goes for stupid money that is used for much needed squad strengthening then fair do's and good luck to the lad. We will then see if Coxall is as good as his word regarding the club being permitted to be self-sustaining in terms of cashflow.

Anyone who stayed till the very end would have seen Thomas was last off the pitch, very deliberately last.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Thomas is still our player at the end of today.

Struggling to make sense of the two loan signings otherwise - presumably both are here to get some League game time? Fair enough if Heardman starts his loan spell on the bench as cover for Paynter, but Fewster? He's already shown he can be effective at this level and Karanka will surely be expecting him to start some games?

Anyhow, Pools will be spoiled for choice if Thomas stays, but to me it looks like a case of getting a replacement in first before selling - which in itself would be massive progress from the IOR/Peterborough days.

I doubt Karanka cares if he's going to be starting games he's not even featured regularly in the Under 21 side lately. They are a Premier League club now so let's be honest lads like Fewster are getting nowhere near first team football as they sign player after player from abroad, he'll get released at the end of the season then sign for a lower league club, maybe even us if things go well. It's a shop window for him, hardly anything to do with Karanka. Plus we don't have any cover for Thomas, most if not all of our other options are right footed forwards. I think he now has cover on the left and a target man to cover or replace depending how good he is, Paynter.

Thomas has the ability to go from a world beater to pub player (slight exaggeration) in a matter of 1 game. If he has someone like Fewster ready and waiting to step into his shoes if he has a bad game, it may give him an extra kick up the arse to perform week in, week out. Win win all round.

He is only just 21 years old. Not many players at that age are as talented as he is and can play consistently well week in week out. If he's able to become consistent I've no doubts he would bring Pools a huge fee. £5million+ I reckon

Can't see why people think fewster plays same position as Thomas. Sure he is a striker, and if he does play out wide, would be more like an allessandra type as opposed to natural winger like Thomas who just wants to beat his man soon as gets the ball.

Losing Thomas would be significant blow without time to spend what would hopefully be a good amount of money with a like for like replacement!

I've only been to one game this season, Notts County, he was from memory the only player who dared to venture to the 18 yard box in front of the Town End, probably apologetic for being missing that game.

and for the record internet land, I don't rate Nathan Thomas, I think any owner of any other football club would struggle to find a single Hartlepool United fan who thought he was a) fit b) dangerous c) worth pursuing on transfer deadline day.

I for one am still hoping that the secret negotiations we've been having with 'Big' Stevie Howard can be finalised before 11:30pm, what a coup that would be, CART WHEEL.

I don't think anyone has said anything of the sort of course he's not a like for like replacement, he is simply a left footed forward he could play in the same position as Thomas in a 4-3-3. Anyway as things stand Thomas is a Pools player and doesn't need replacing.

Gary Coxall is on Twitter cracking jokes about Thomas and his current whereabouts, fair to say he's staying then. Which is strange considering "he's gone". Clough must have seen him in the same car as Michael Nelson.....

I remember at school sometimes kids would be contrary and say the opposite of the truth, ie 'what is the weather like in summer?' 'Snowy' they would reply.

Maybe Clough is employing the same tactic?

Why is it handy? I generally speak as I find and let people know what I know. That's it I was wrong today but just saying it like I got told.

Good lad. I'm sure that comes from Hignett's influence who wants a bigger job himself and wants his players to get big moves too, but only after making names for themselves with Pools. Can't see anyone jumping ship here unless they've earned it. Thomas and others haven't yet.
