Don't know if everyone on here will have heard of him, but there's a singer called James Blake who gets a lot of airplay on radio 6.

Basically the definition of a one-trick pony. Quite a distinctive style of singing, which isn't bad in itself, but every single song sounds exactly the fooking same. I don't know how many releases he's made, but they may as well have been the same one.

Can anyone else come up with any examples of an artist or band who have wrung every last drop out and still kept going?

Mumford and Sons have done pretty well playing the same song over and over

Snow Patrol.
To be fair, though, once you find a winning formula, it pays to stick to it, unless you're absolutely driven to keep trying new things. And it's always been like that. Someone joked that Vivaldi wrote the same concerto five hundred times.

We should be so lucky in Britain. Every French or Spanish singer picks one song and rewrites it (or gets someone to rewrite it) a million times.
