Cracking game but I reckon we're losing this one it would be a hell of an effort to chase down the lead they already have.

Either way this is going to be a cracking series.

Who was that goon who used to slag off Woakes on here all of the time as well, he talked absolute rubbish about cricket? He also had a irrational hatred of Leighton Baines totally forgot his name! Well he was wrong about Woakes wasn't he?

To be fair, I think his obsession was Bairstow. I've got to say, I never rated Woakes, having seem him at Edgbaston quite a lot over the years; that was until I saw him take his 9 wickets against Durham. It was clear watching him in Brum then that he'd made a step up.

Agree I think they've already scored too many. Would Anderson have made a difference?

Woakes was poor until fairly recently, and by his own, and the experts opinion, he has worked hard over the last 2 years to improve as a bowler and batsman.

Surely though, the more pressing issues revolve around the batsmen selection?

And even more pressing, the fact that Cook and the manager (whose name escapes me) wanted different players to the selectors. Doesnt this just highlight how backward cricket still is?

Darren retired a few years ago and started dancing. Too old for a recall!

You're absolutely right it was Bairstow, but I suppose my point still stands! He called him Joakes once though from memory and the poster was Doubledecker or something like that.

He talked absolute rubbish about cricket!

Yes I think Anderson should have played, but the batting looks a problem right now fragile is a fair description. Surely they are wrong to completely right off and move on from Ian Bell? Pakistan also have a seriously good bowling attack, the best and most balanced in World cricket right now.

Wasnt it, apart from Woakes, an awful performance?

Funny people Cricket fans. If that was an England football performance, or even a rugby one, the reaction would have been outrage.

It seems that Englands selectors are trying to take the game back to the old Boycott, Brierley days, with some of the batting selections.

They are meant to excite the crowd these days and entertain:

Cook
Hales
Borthwick
Root
Buttler
Bairstow
Stokes
Ali
Woakes
Broad
Anderson

Now thats a team.
