Streets are paved with gold in that London. Nightclubs open every night of the week. Arm and a leg for a round mind. And the lasses down there are dead miserable most of the time.

If he leaves, he leaves. Half decent as a League 2 player on his day but when he goes in for tackles he usually ends up worse off and laid on the deck. We need someone in who can look after themselves and dish it out a bit when needed. That's what we've been missing for a while now.

Woods has an offer from Leyton Orient. It's a lot higher than our offer as Russ obviously thought we would retain him on the cheap.

The player is torn between the financially better offer and playing for Hignett and Fleming who he genuinely wants to play for.

Or maybe they have a bigger wage budget and can afford to offer him more?

They'd have to offer him double his Pools wages just to make up for the difference in the cost of living.

But his agent's percentage will stay the same so I bet he'll be getting a whisper in the ear encouraging him to develop his career inside the M25.

Of course they will have had to offer him considerably more. Wages across the board are higher in London and the South East to reflect the higher cost of living. I'm looking at renting a flat down there at the moment and its gonna cost 4 times what it would to rent up here.

He will comfortably want at least twice the salary he is on now just to have the same standard of living.

This time last year I was living in London during the week.

Some of the people I worked with were renting. Some at The Emirites, some around Kings Cross. None were under £1k a month.

Some of these were one bed flats in not nice areas.

Our lass worked just outside London for just under a year in Welwyn Garden City, she was paying £700 a month for a box room in a house with 6 other people and one bathroom to share. It's seriously mental how much people can charge for these rooms.
