Why has they gone back to a Dutch manager after the disaster that was Ruud Gullit?

No sympathy for them, it's all gone wrong since Pardew left, much to the delight of their deluded fans at the time when he left..they would of got some decent applicants for the job, but went with a manager who failed with Derby. He's spent a bit in the summer and it's clear some of them aren't good enough for English football... Going one way

Couldn't happen to a nastier bunch of arrogant twats - players, officials & fans - and they are supposed to be taking the cup competitions seriously this season as they have won sod all domestically for 60 fcuking years lol. Let's be honest they can't even beat the SMB's these days and have done sweet FA to assist Pools in recent years. I'm no lover of the Boring Borer but it would be highly amusing if they swapped places with the Mags come next May. Bring it on.

They didn't sack Pardew, he left for Palace. Ashley gave the supporters their wish and was paid compensation for Pardews services as well!

It was this time last year that the orchestrated 'Pardew Out' campaign was in full swing.

Funny how things work out. Quite hilarious in fact.

I still don't think they'll go down on paper some of the signings are decent players, they desperately need the centre forward, who on the face of it looked a good signing, to stop being a walking red card and start scoring a few though.

I think McClaren won't last long and Kevin Keegan will fly back in on his helicopter and save them, why aye man pet!!

Shocking start for both Newcastle and Sunderland so far. I can see Newcastle pick up points and probably finish around 16th, Sunderland can't keep doing the routine of shit start, sack manager, beat Newcastle and just avoid relegation. Can't believe neither of went for Charlie Austin.

Its a funny old game as the Saint used to say!

I've seen them on tele and they are atrocious. One game they defended really well but that's all they did, the striker was chasing down on the edge of his on box. Other times they were just as uneffective going forward but without any defensive competency whatsoever. The good players they have like Krul and Sissoko will soon see sense and it can only go one way from there.

The manager they need is Sam Allardyce or Tony Pullis but they both have more sense than to go there.

Allardyce needed.? He has been there and was shocking. As a manager he has won nowt. Toon fans only want a team to try and to entertain hardly a huge requirement for the third best supporters team in the country. How does that make them deluded. Cannot fathom why they didn't go for Austin. Like every other Prem club outside the top five half decent players think they are world beaters and stop playing when a bigger club comes sniffing. They just do not give a toss about the fans. As for team players they're having a laugh. Finally when the manager says they're tired because they've played twice in a week I just despair.

Successive owners have 'milked' the club for years, I believe Freddy Shepherd was taking £750k in dividends every year, now currently living in the Bahamas.
The fans deserve every thing they get paying out hard earned cash every season to watch dross.

You are aware that when Ashley bought the club they nearly a quarter of a billion pounds in debt and on the verge of being the next Portsmouth?

The club are in the black now, Ashley has done many things but I'm not sure you can accuse him of milking the club. Yeah there's business sense in him owning a club like them but club are on a far sounder footing than the one he walked into. He's not daft.

I'd quite like the whole Car-toon army to go bust. Club, supporters and anyone else who lives within 100 yards of a Newcastle shirt.

He was shocking but time has proven that's most likely down to the ownership. They're serial strugglers, exactly the type of team Big Sam thrives at.

I know it would never happen, just saying he's exactly the type of manager they should be appointing. Someone who targets results over style of play. At present they have neither and as a Pools fan, it can't last long enough!

Just read that Mclaren is struggling with the number of languages at the club. They have several dutch players but I thought he had mastered that language?! Maybe he could get Joey Barton back to translate to the French players!

Club is a joke from top to bottom, the only pride they'll have come the end of the season is finishing 19th, one place above the Mackems.

Ashley has never taken money out of Newcastle, I meant previous owners, in fact there was a 'black hole' in the clubs finances which cost Ashley a few million quid, Shepherd 'miked' the club big style !

Shepherd owned almost all of his Newcastle shares through Shepherd Offshore. Unlike the Halls, who had been steadily selling off their shares since floatation in 1997, the Shepherds increased their holding. They owned 28.01% of the club, up from about 22% in April 2005. Since 1997, the Shepherds have made ₤8,351,298 from Newcastle United, ₤5,489,239 in share dividends and ₤2,862,059 in salaries. In 2005, Shepherd's annual salary from the club was £552,954.[2]

The OP on this thread was taking the piss.

Most of the rest of thread appears to be the views of people a little bit too interested in the plight of these fuckawful clubs.

Something most of you want to own upto?

Like your secret love of the "toon"

liking all football isn't really a love of someone. there seems to be a big opinion if you follow hartlepool (or any other lower league team) that you can't have an interest in anything else, especially the premier league.

it's funny to see fans suffer when they are deluded and think cos they get 52k they should instantly do well

I take an interest in football in general.

Imagine someone enjoying the sport as much as you enjoy kebabs if that helps.

Ah yes, but I call a kebab a kebab.

Some on here seem to have affectionately referred to Newcastle as "the toon".

Almost like a term of endearment.

See?

Ive got more interest in seeing our north east non-league teams doing well.
Gateshead Spennymoor even Darlo than the premiershit!

Would be funny like if Newcastle n Sunderland went down and the Boro went up.Mite even work in our favour to get some of boros younger talent on loan.

But even if they do go down they'll come straight back up and they are that deluded they'll think they'll then be challengers for the premiershit title!!!!

Seriously if I was a genuine Sunderland or Newcastle fan I wouldn't be bothered about going down. At least they'll be at level where they are one of the stronger teams and will be competing for honours. You'll get to go to a few different away grounds were you'll take loads of fans and probably win your fair share.

Outside of the top six or seven clubs in the Premiership you are just also rans who will never attract the top players or compete for major honours ever again, as dull as dishwater.

Is it as "dull as dishwater" or "dull as ditchwater"? I've often wondered.
