So the defence a lot tighter then.

I think the pre-season organised this year has been perfect, the losses against Scunny and Gateshead have really given RM something to think about and although it is always going to be tough for so,many new players to gel, I remain confident for a good season bbolt

The defence looked tighter but chesterfield where very poor in comparison to Scunthorpe. I would be concerned if I was a chesterfield fan and that was their starting 11. Suppose next week is what really matters

We got beat by a better, fitter and more sharp team today.

They played out from the back very well rather than looking for a 40 yard hoof up front.

A lot of teams will be able to play their game at our place this season if we continue this formation.

Defence looked better than Scunny but still a lot of work to do.

I think we'll see a lot more football played, rather than some of the long ball stuff we've seen in pre season, once the team gels and they've worked on movement more, I reckon RM has concentrated on the defence and making us hard to beat initially.

We had about 4 decent opportunities to score and fluffed the lot. I'd probably start with Fenwick and Bingham next week. The new keeper did ok.

There also aren't any Medium or Large home shirts left - hope they have some in for next week....

Would like to have seen more of Walker, he seems to be regaining his form, his time will come.

Not sure what that is based on. Midfield looks better without him, thought magnay did well just in front of defence.

But still don't like formation. Duckworth seems to still be playing as if he's under instruction from Moore not to attacking so basically a right back, where Carroll is advanced as he can be.

No need to have essentially 5/6 players defending, especially at home. No wide options and strikers tightly marked, not much options for midfield moving forward

Would be a big surprise if Fenwick was to start after Paynter has had the nod all pre season.

Cant believe the greatest manager in the football league will leave our one and only natural finisher on the bench, for someone who doesn't look like he has a goal in him. Strange decision maybe we just want to make the season interesting again by having a dreadful start.

By all accounts Fenwick has missed a fair few chances this pre season?

Fenwick scored more than paynter during pre season in far less minutes.

The thing that surprises/worries me is that if one of those deemed as first 11 gets injured, the backup players don't have an awful lot of pre season minutes under their belt.

What have Fenwick and Oates had pre season? About game and a half of pre season? Strange by moore

Fenwick has been eased back in after his injury.
