I was listening to the radio the other day when the deal was agreed and some one text in to 5 Live to suggest that £49m represents the same value for money as paying £10 for a packet of 10p Space Raiders.

Made me chuckle anyway

Has he moved?

Hard to criticise him moving as, for a 20 year old especially, it would be difficult to turn down. But his agent is the sort of agent football can do without. I'm sure there are rare good agents out there so I'll refrain from saying football would be better without them.

Good player, not a great one yet....49 million squid.....BIZARRE ! Agreed about his agent though, and why has he so desperate to leave one of the most famous clubs in football, at such a young age ?

Makes sense for all three parties.

Man City have a home-grown, potentially world-class player in a position they needed strengthening, Liverpool have £40m to spend and Raheem Sterling has made a good career move.

I can't see why people are kicking up a fuss about this.

And I can't see why Poolies even give a fuck.
Maybe they're thinking we'll pick him up in about 15 years.

It would be unfair on him as it might be time for Howard's return then and at 35 Sterling won't want to sit on the bench.
The only fuss anyone is kicking up is regarding the fuss caused by player and agent. Typical of today's game sadly.

I don't give a fiddler's fart about the player (except in an England shirt) or either club, but the laughably outdated sense of entitlement of everyone connected with Liverpool FC does get on my nerves.

What planet are the Scousers' ex-players on? With Suarez and now Sterling they all piled in to say it was an outrage that the player should consider leaving the best club in the world.

Would that be the same Liverpool that have won one trophy in the last 10 years? Beat Cardiff in a penalty shoot out in the League Cup Final? Which puts them on a par with fellow recent League cup winners Birmingham City and Swansea. Except Swansea play better football!

What bugs me with people like Sterling is they're happy to sign a contract for a club when it's the best offer around at that time. Then when someone else comes knocking suddenly that club and contract means nothing and they throw their rattle out the pram and make life difficult for the club that have invested in them. They only have a regard for themselves. Mercenary is the word that springs to mind. Yes they retain a right to better themselves but it's the way they go about it that leaves a bad taste and does the sports image no good whatsoever.

Liverpool took him from QPR and now Man City have taken him from Liverpool.

They have got great money for him.

Just shows how crazy premiership football has gone but with the new Sky/BT Sport deal, the £s will just get bigger and bigger confised

But without that contract Liverpool don't get £49 million for him.
