Will be leaving my job this summer and moving to pastures new. One of the guys I work with knows Paul Olsson and asked him if he could help with a leaving gift for me.

So today, I get handed the Up the Pools book, detailing pools promotion seasons 1968 and 1991 - signed by Paul Olsson himself

I was well and truly touched and happy with this gift, but what a guy Paul Olsson is to do this. It was his copy of the book he handed over too.


Well happy right now.

If my memory serves me well, I Saw him score 2 cracking goals at Shreswbury around 91/92 ish.

Him and Bennyworth both signed from Scarborough by Cyril Knowles transformed the side when it was on its knees in 89/90 sctatchinghead

very happy memories of his period at Pools :cool:

I couldn't believe it when the guy at work said he knew Paul Olsson and drank in the same pub as him and his brother... I keep meaning to head in and see if he's there....


It was the promotion season 1990/91 that I first ventured into the Vic. As a teenager I can remember most of the players - a magical time - I thought I was a lucky omen as they got promoted in my first season following the lads.....


...... how wrong I was.
