So the cull has not taken place yet again offering average players new deals on lower pay no doubt.

I think on the whole it's decent. Would of released franks and austin but they would be decent squad players so can't grumble.

No surprises there, only thing for me is Fenwick only being on his option year. Get him on a long term contract now!

So from that 17 players were out of contract, no wonder its taken its time to come out then.

From the poll on here before people will agree with that apart from releasing Bates and Austin as well. I don't doubt either would be okay as back up players but weather they would accept such wages or even a place on the bench I'm not so sure.

Not in the least. Keep players like Austin bates franks and to a lesser extent flinders and we will never improve especially defensively. How many more injuries or poor games before they go.

Last year we did it to at least keep them tied down and then offer them longer deals like with Richards. I can't see why we offered Duckworth an improved deal last year to override his optional year when it was only a year anyway.

I would keep Bates he has shown his versatility and has played some decent stuff before injury. The rest can go. I would also dump Franks.

Very harsh on Parnaby. I hope he was at the very least offered a testimonial.

Keeping the bulk of a defence that has been nothing short of embarassing for the last two to three years is asking for more trouble next year.

Just got to hope there's some permanent signings to replace them.

Franks maybe, Austin I wouldn't bother and flinders only if there's nowt better.

And I suppose you never know how woodsy will come back from an injury like that but hopefully in the form he was in, otherwise I'll be clenching for the whole season (again).

If they are offering reduced terms to them there basically saying your not quite good enough. So why keep them?

So assuming they all stay and will be subs we need:

1 GK
1 CB
1 LB
1 RW
1 CM
1 LW
1 CF

Plus various bits of cover.

The mail list doesn't mention Flinders at all?

He's a businessman. I bet the tea lady has had her win bonus cut anorl.

See what you mean though. As a squad player franks wouldn't be too bad, so that wouldn't warrant the salary he's on now.

Hopefully there's more to bin.

Who was the clown who swore blind on here that Franks was on £7k a week?

It's easy to assume they've all been less money but maybe it's the length of the new deal that is a sticking point for some?

Franks is still young and Flinders isn't old for a keeper. If they've been offered 12 months they're entitled to ask their agents if they can get them fixed up somewhere for longer.

Bates probably doesn't need the money and can do a good job in front of the back four as he showed just before he got injured. He's a nightmare at centre back though.

Can bates play more than ten games without getting injured? We have got rid of two injury prone players maybe a pay as you play deal for bates.

Presuming we are also discussing terms with Richards as I see no mention of him?

Happy with that. I think Richards would have been let go if he wasn't under contract. Surprised Nelson-Addy was given a contract longer than the end of this season - whilst he looked rather pants against Carlisle, I think he could come good though.

Unlike a fair few on here, I am a fan of Flinders and really hope he stays.

I'd also give Austin another year. Barring a spell around Xmas I think he did alright and is worth another year.

Bates I'm undecided on. He is error prone which has and will continue to cost us should he play at centre half. As a defensive midfielder I think he played well and at least as/when he cocks up there are a couple of others behind him....that said, I'd probably sooner play Woods or Featherstone in the defensive midfield role. He is seemingly injury prone too and is no doubt on a decent wedge. I think I've decided. Get rid.

On the whole I am pleased with that. We need a squad and if we can retain the likes of franks and bates on low wages to use as squad players then I am happy with that.

I would be disappointed if flinders leaves simply because that leaves us with zero first team keepers. With the wages from loan players and those released ronnie must have a decent wage allowance

Agree with all that and I think you have just made me change my mind to get rid of bates

Austin was ok second half of the season imho. I couldn't fault Franks effort for many of the games he played under RM and you could see what it meant to him when we stayed up, so with that in mind, I don't mind keeping hold of him on reduced wages as a squad player. Lets face it, you don't get many world beating league two subs, all much of a muchness. Flinders played his part in keeping us up but someone needs to work with him on coming out for crosses. And kicking. And communication. Apart from that, best keeper in the lower leagues. Seems a nice chap.

At our level its the goal scorers and creative players that you should be paying top dollar for, not a defender whose main job is to kick people.

We need to be looking at the likes of Luke Williams, Bingham, Hughill, etc if we want to improve things. That will cost money so makes sense to sack the likes of Bates off altogether who looked disinterested/injured most of the time, and seems more focused on running his nightclub.

This ^^^ Bates and Franks and Austin have to go, we need better players not the same ones who we have struggled with for two seasons in a row.

Relieved to see Ritchie released at last. He had his moments but this is 2015.

Bates was lightweight summed up by the equaliser against Exeter. The goals on the football league show this season were usually like repeats, Bates on his arse as the oppo forward waltzed through and scored. Austin was better second half of the season, but that's not saying much. He has a habit of launching into a tackle with studs up risking a red card, or if challenged goes down like a White House intern
