So how many on bookface have objected to what he posted,or are they all supporting his post.

Perhaps the reason it went so well, and it did, was that people took heed as to what 'may' have happened and consequently held back on the make up as it where.

I've read the bunker for years and started posting in December. It was never a case of people always agreeing but a place for discussion and debate; instead ots just more and more becoming a place intolerant of people having different opinion.

Some people might not like or agree with what Geoff had to say but he is still intituled to his opinion as are those who said he fancy dress was racist, could have racist connotations or get the club bad publicity.

As it turned out the worst press that happened was the statement because of those who complained and that still led to an outpour of support from people all round the country defending the idea and our supporters.

If people are to be banned off the bunker for not agreeing with those running the board then its utterly pointless even being on here.

I think I saw Simpson and Loughlin tweeting after the game that getting kick it out involved or whatever was a complete joke.

They seem under the impression people thought dressing as Bob Marley was racist. No one did. People thought people blacking up could cause problems as it has for many years.

By all accounts all the strange people on the Facebook page claiming they were blacking up didn't bother and the day went well?

What makes you think I'm Geoff? I don't believe he named any names and it has been taken that he means certain people but hasn't been stated outright. If one person is allowed an opinion, surely others are allowed to disagree, much as you might disagree with this post. Just think it's blown out of proportion much like the whole "blacked up" issue to begin with, whoever campaigned whoever complained. An excellent day was had by all from what I saw at Carlisle. The bob marley theme and the jamaica bobsleigh team added to an incredible atmosphere. It's gotten silly IMHO, this whole issue and at the end of the day we are all poolies. Considering I have been in France for 7 months, I couldn't give you an explanation as to why I share the same IP address. Truth be told as I implied earlier on, probably a childish post in first place and a childish response to ban in my opinion.

First time I've commented on this. I live 200 miles away from Pools; I was taking the lad to school last week and two blokes (who know I'm a Hartlepool fan) both asked me what the feck was going on. Granted, one keeps up with Pools because we always talk football, and the other is a football journalist, but both couldn't believe what was planned. Neither is a 'smug twat'.

On the fancy dress theme, I was visiting my mother at the weekend with said lad, and I had a beer in the local late on Saturday (not with the lad; he was in bed). Who walked in at 10:30? None other than John Tinkler in fancy dress having got back from Carlisle (via, it seems, quite a few pubs!). Tinks had the good sense to not bother 'blacking up'! Still a good lad is Tinks, and watches the team when he can.

What was the reason for their incredulity? The fact we have a FDE (hardly news), that the FDE chose Bob Marley (who should they have chosen?), or that you (by all accounts a sound gadgy) knock around with easily astonished people?
