Thanks Marlon, you've been an inspiration to all poolies and have played your way in to the hearts of many during your time here. You came from the premier league and were kept out of the team by numerous signings who made their name in non league! You're good at making cars look like they're owned by drug dealers though.

His goals at Accrington and Wimbledon mean I'll remember him fondly (it's like he's died)

I've always got the impression he's a pretty sound bloke. He's just not really offered as much as he should have on the pitch. He's has some decent games he's had some appalling ones. He's cheerleaded the crowd every game though!

I actually heard something interesting the other week, his appearances at against Exeter and Plymouth in the last two games of last season triggered an extra year in his contract and Colin Cooper was made aware of that even though the last two games were meaningless.

Thanks Marlon.

Will never understand the stick some morons gave him. He wasn't the answer we needed but he gave his all IMO.

I agree with that. He has a better attitude than some kids we've had on loan even when he's been left out or been sub and come on in the 89th minute.

What's staggered me about him though is with his back to goal with ball to feet linking up play he's always been pretty decent but his finishing has been woeful almost like he has no confidence whatsoever in front of goal. You'd almost expect that to be the opposite from someone of his age and top level experience.

Even though Marlon played at a much higher level, you could ever question his application whilst at Pools. A true professional. Take note Ryan Noble, Hairdo Donaldson.
In terms of professionalism, the man had class.

In very simple terms I don't think he could run anymore. However every game I have managed as an exile in last 2 years he has been a long way from being the worst player and genuinely seemed to care about what he was doing. Good balanced thread and comments from all overall.

I know he doesn't need the money probably but good luck to the guy

He's never going to be remembered as fondly as Joel Porter but I think he's done enough right in his time at the club to deserve more plaudits than criticism.

Thank you big lad! Heart always in the game even though the legs started to fail you. Great attitude for a former premiership player and a very honest and decent man. Good luck in whatever you decide to do in the future. :-o

I can't remember a player that I wanted to do well, so much.

Has been very disappointing overall but he clearly does/did care and wish him all the best.

Correct. He had a rather bizarre clause in his contract that if he played more than 60 minutes in x amount of games he'd get another year

Great attitude and a very passionate player. His fist bumps where much better than Waltons.

as others have said, it never really worked for him here but at no point could his attitude be faulted. wouldn't be pools if we didn't have the usual fuckin idiots who are so insecure they always need a target.

plenty of the young lads will have learnt from him the last couple of seasons, and for his enthusiasm and professionalism alone he should be remembered with affection when he leaves.

Have to agree with most of the posts, you could tell Marlon had really been working out over last pre-season and wanted to succeed. I just think his legs have gone now. Best of luck for the future.
