... then what ? We could end up still in a sort of limbo where finding our way through the fog of uncertainty leaves us no better off.
We need to start planning for next season now, but I'm hardly filled with confidence.
The dimmer end of the sheep spectrumnwill renew their season tickets, but I want to see just where we're going before I renew.

I am happy to wait for 1 or 2 weeks before we start planning for next season.

Same shit next season probably with a smaller squad.
While ior are still in control 3rd bottom will be the best we can hope for.

If the club is debt free and ior really do want to get away then there should be a queue of interested partys wanting to take control.

How can you plan for next season now when we don't even know what leaWegue we will be in? As fans all we can do is get 100% behind the players and hope that they can somehow get the results required. We've been in a similar position going into the last 2 games not too long ago. Lets hope the penultimate game can have a similar result as the one below next week

http://www.inthemadcrowd.co.uk/UI/Match.aspx?oid=3749

We are in a far better position now than we were at half time yesterday....

Any club worth its salt would be planning for either option and the planning should already be in place, as opposed to the usual inert close season then, acting mildly surprised when the season's about to begin.

we already have plans in place, release anybody on a decent wage whose contract has expired, offer reduced terms to fringe players with promise of first team football, then supplement with loans and wait until season is well under way to add a few free agents which no other team has picked up.

If we manage to avoid the drop this year, and its a big if as we don't look like beating anyone at the minute so its more going to be if the others get beat too, I think next season will be a different story. The team and the players have been through everything this season so i guess its natural that now they are out of the relegation zone, they are nervous about dropping back in with the few game we have left and its affecting the way they play. If we had got the results against York and Accrington then I think they would be playing with more confidence now and enjoying the last few games.

If we stop up and Ronnie has pick of who stays and who goes, with a few new signings and the young ones we have coming through I would expect things to be different next season.

Well of course I'm sure there will be absolutely no planning going on whatsoever. Any move to try and sell the club or get more financial backing will be at a standstill now that IOR are back in charge. Still, I'll be one of the dim sheep who will be renewing my season ticket.

The more enlightened are of course very welcome to their own opinion.

I'd be amazed if you didn't obey orders automatically as per usual and be first in the queue for your season ticket. Nice to see you finally concede that those who wait before handing over their money are enlightened... which makes you...?

I swear if the club put the prices up to £ 3,000 a season ticket , microchipping of fans, children held hostage and forced to work as Victorian chimmney sweeps till season ends, compulsory self flagellation, fan branding, lobotomy option and subscription to Kenvision... some super dooper ultra loyalists would no doubt be steaming in their pants at the prospect.

I am a supporter of HUFC. Nothing more, nothing less.

As a supporter I will be doing what I can to give my support to HUFC.

Not to Hodcroft, Green or anyone else but to HUFC.

Sorry if that offends but there you go. Call it blind faith if you will ....indeed most of the last 50 years have been something like that, but I have still been there.

The fact that I brought up my son - who has never lived in Hartlepool, having spent all his 23 years living in Darlo - to be a proper Poolie fills me with pride. He too will be getting his season ticket and so will Mrs N (again who has never lived in the town).

What others do is up to them.

Thanks Chip

Don't get me wrong ( and many often do) I am far from happy with the way things have been going over the last couple of years, maybe even longer. I want better for the club - even if it is just some sort of stability.

However, I have tried to remain positive and optimistic - something that isn't always easy, especially going against the flow on here.

Whatever happens I believe I will be there - although I accept that not everyone feels the same.

I can't comprehend your apparent willingness to carry on apparently unpreturbed with the running of the club and remain stoically unmoved by events over the past five years. I have been going since the early sixties and brought my lads up to go and now the grandson, so most of my time supporting the club has been when it was in permanent crisis mode as a way of life.
However, what infuriates me is the way the club has managed to alienate fans over the past five years to the point where sometimes it was an effort to turn up... that's not me, but that's what they've done, ruined something very important in my life and I'm fuming and I can't understand why anyone who loves the club isn't fuming too.
Never met you, you sound like a nice bloke, but don't be quiet, you can still support the team and criticise the owners, the two aren't linked.

IOR constantly tell us how they run pools as a business so should be treat as such.

If a business fails to provide the services you pay for (a league 2 standard team), doesn't communicate with you (goes without saying) or fails to take responsibility when things go wrong (blame the police, council, FFP the fans). You stop giving them anymore of your money.

I think Snowy politely and eloquently summarizes why many have argued with your position Geoff over the last months/years. There seems to be a divide philosophically about supporting the club and supporting the team. The people criticizing the regime are doing so because they support the long term interests of Hartlepool United and see the current regime in charge as undermining that goal on an ongoing basis. We don't need to get into the all the arguments about why.

Your post is polite and eloquent too and I probably felt like that until a year or so ago but enough is enough and I can't ignore the facts staring me in the face any longer.

Sadly fans who ultimately want the same thing are currently fighting each other on 2 relatively meaningless messageboards and some appear to be against a democratic one man one vote trust for various reasons. If no one protests or takes action in life nothing changes. Please support the team but if you are unhappy don't blindly support or condone the actions of the current people in charge

I will always support Hartlepool United Football Club, but I won't support the people who are currently running it into the ground unless they start communicating with the fans and/or apologise for breaking their own rules.

1) Don't embarrass the Club. (numerous occasions)
2) Don't get relegated. (once, possibly twice, in the last two seasons)

Not my fault, it's their rules, their statement.....

Whose saying that John? I would have thought most people will still be going to games.

Again supporting the team but being behind change to how the club is run don't have to be mutually exclusive do they?

During the 90 minutes of the match any feelings i have towards the owners are put to 1 side to support the team.

Every other minute either side of that is a different story.

Stick that on a t-shirt!

TNMOAMSEBNAOM

(the ninety minutes of a match support elite but not any other minute)

I'll be buying one too probably, (even in the conference if the worst happens).... when the dust has settled and not out of habit, I need to thimk about it this time. They aren't condescending opinions, they're asking people to think about where we're going as a club.

Never known you to get a thread so badly wrong. Or wrong generally for that matter.
