.......that you were living in a Police state:

Police are to get tough with fans staying at the new £9 million Holiday Inn hotel overlooking the pitch at Norwich City. A string of hard-line measures are aimed at stopping supporters watching matches at Carrow Road for free - including a ban on more than two adults going into any of the 72 guest rooms facing the pitch.

Source: Daily Telegraph.

Now they're telling you what you can do and who with in an hotel room. It'll be your own bedroom next, remember where you heard it first........

It's fu cking unbelievable.

Only in Britain would they build a shagging great hotel, charge you 90 a quid a night for staying there and then stop you looking out of the friggin' windows with a 'string of hard line measures.' This probably means that you will have a camera trained on your hotel room window. Just think about that while you're laughing.

I tell you what, I get at least one of these stories out of the papers every day and tell my Chinese chums about them and they PISS themselves laughing. They say, 'I thought we lived in a repressive Communist tyranny?? Life's a yawn here compared to your country.'

And you know what??

It is.......

Are you claiming that our New Labour government has slowly eroded our civil liberties, turning Britain into a police state with free speech and one off the wrists are banned?

Aye!! Errrrrr, no...Err yeah, yeah I am, the justification will be that if you knock one out in a hotel room, the detergent used to wash the sheets will pollute the water supply and the power used in the laundry increases the carbon emissions.

When in actual fact all that's happening is that they're getting further into your face and pocket.

Time for a revolution fellers!! Or is Corrie just about to start??

The trouble with this country is that there's no bribing of officials culture. Apparently in Italy they can do anything they like and get anything done, just by slipping a few back-handers.....

Yeah I saw a film about that. It was called The Godfather.

I think I'd be more inclined to find the jokers who make up these things, put 'em in a boat, take it out to the middle of the Atlantic and sink it.

Obviously after a full Health and Safety Risk Assessment.

Typically like building a big hotel and then getting 'a string of hard line measures' instigated by the Police to stop you looking at what's outside the windows. I stay in Holiday Inns all over the planet. I'm a Priority Club member and I know that you can ask for a bed settee to be put in your room to make a double/twin into a four person room, and you actually pay for the use of the room. Along comes plod and starts into telling you what you can do after you've paid your money.

More inclined to murder the buggers than bribe them. Easy squeezy and a budget saving.

And to think, 'porch monkeys' can sit in the street, sponge of the state, cause nuisance and havoc and the Police can do feck all about it
