Seems as little else in happening in our football world lets continue in the nostalgic vein.

My first underage drink was in the Astronaut pub in Billingham, aged about 14 and was a half of lager.

Prinny Helena at 14 years old, was more like a youthy in there.

Or can I count the times when me and the lads from school used to go to the baths and when we had finished we would go to the offy to buy some cider. The only reason we got away with it was because one of us looked about 25 when we were actually only 13.

Top marks for anyone who can guess the identity of our old looking cider pimp, I'll give you a clue: He didn't go to Dyke House.

Aged 14 at The Old Dungeon Ghyll while at School Camp in Langdale.

Half a dozen of us sneaked out to the pub and our first drink in an iconic real ale pub...........Newcy Broon!!

We got rumbled by a few of the teachers who turned up for a few pints and to their eternal credit they bought us all a proper pint of Jennings Sneck Lifter.

Prince Andrew bought my sister's first underage drink. They met by chance after a middle-aged man gave her some free tickets for a holiday in the Virgin islands.

I remember being about 10 year old and my dad left a bottle of JD on the kitchen work top, I opened it and had a swig thinking I was clever and it felt like my mouth was on fire, eyes watering the lot! The stuff is still rank now even when i'm older.

Pint of Strongarm in the Causeway aged about fifteen.

If its a drink from the offy, then one Tuesday night when I was about 14 a Pools night match got called off late on, and one of the lads suggested we spend our entrance money on Newky Brown instead. Obtained from the offy off Murray Street. Got lifted by the police about half an hour later down an alley off York Road.

Mine was in the Woodie. Two policemen appeared while we were happily knocking back our beer, and started asking people's names, addresses and ages. My friend put back our birth-days a year, and the police didn't check up. So, thanks friend. My mam would have had a stroke if she'd found out.

So, to sum this thread up, it appears there's not a single Bunkerite who waited the full monty before embarking on the loony juice.

Mine was after GCSE results at 16 in the sports bar as being a midget I couldnt get served anywhere else I think had two or three pints went back to mates to get ready and back to Sports bar. The women on bar on return wouldnt serve me but her collegue said we where in earlier so they did again I think I had one more and then tried to walk to Church Street to wonkey donkey and fell on my face. Mates put me in taxi and then I got a bollocking of my dad.

1973; aged 15; Park Hotel on a Friday night. Drinking Strongarm.

Two policemen walked in and marched straight over to where we were sitting; result was four of us in juvenile court where we were fined for 'buying', but let off for 'drinking'.

And did it stop us?

Yeah, we moved to the 'Cutter (for the pebbledash inducing Exhibition) and the Greensides for the Strongarm.....
