the reserves at Billy Town. Strong lineup, did okay in first half, fell to pieces in the second..... sound familiar?

I was disappointed not to see any trialists in the lineup, but Walker looked good in the first half and took his goal well. Then Callum Smith scored from long distance after keeper miskicked a back pass.

Pools should have seen game out but conceded one and that was it.... those who attack Flinders should be concerned because Maxted isn't much cop. Bates played well, Holden and Richards okay going forward rubbish defending.

I thought our best player was Hawkins.

BTW Moore wasn't there.

Often wonder why some are keen to shot Maxted in. He's not played a league game before has he?
As for Moore not being there, he's never at training either so all I can think is he must have dicovered the town's local delicacy...a Greg's Steak Bake.

Team:-Maxted, Richards, Holden, Featherstone, Nearney, Bates, Hawkins, Skidmore,Smith, Walker, Mitchinson. Subs: Blackford, Barber(GK), Jewson, Howes, Carr.

Good first half, everybody played ok. Bates and Walker stood out although Walker looked lazy off the ball, was strolling about when not in possession (the other midfielders were running into space and looking for a pass).
Connor Smith tried hard playing an unfamiliar roll as a Centre Forward and did score.
We didn't have a recognized forward in the team today.
Howes started the second half for Walker then Mitchinson and Skidmore went off for Jewson and Blackford this seemed to be when things went wrong along with Maxted deciding he wanted to be an outfield player try to dribbling in his own box which resulted in a bad clearance which in turn resulted in their second goal. he was blasted by his defenders and rightly so.
At that point I left I could see what was going to happen and was not suprised when I checked to see we lost 2-3.
