Over 3 hours after the game has ended and not many of the usual suspecte seem to have made an appearance on here yet.
My theory that they really don't like it when we win must be true. They have nothing to whinge about!

One swallow does not make a Summer but that was loads better today. The number of efforts on goal and number of corners won must be close to the total number for the season.

has always been the same on the message boards. Bout time everybody just buried the hatchet though. The bickering is juvenile.

It does surprise me how much bickering there is given that we all want the same thing

I joined the bunker for some good football talk and a bit of debate but all I've really seen is bickering and people who could make a living at professional whinging but when there's a chance to be optimistic they go silent. We have relatively new owners, a relatively new manager and a lot more reason to be optimistic personally.

Every game has been at a reduced price, programmes were £1 cheaper for a couple of games and on the pitch we have seen improvement. As bad as Morecambe was it was still better than plenty of other performance. For me Ronnie is doing well in creating an upturn at the club; Jones has been a revelation at CB, we look more solid and got our first win under him today.

We are by no means saved but we hit rock bottom, it couldn't get much worse and now I feel optimistic that we will at least make a fist of it and be ready for next season no matter where we are. I'll be back no matter what league we are in and I may be an eternal optimist but I believe in the future of this club irrespective what happens come the end of this season.

FFS Geoff just enjoy the long overdue win, all of this petty shite is bringing this place down. Nobody on here wants Pools to lose do they?

I think some of the know alls on here should hang their heads in shame. They seem to love slagging pools off. It was atleast conceivable to anyone with a football brain that we'd do well today with 3 decent quality new signings in the team, against a bang average/poor team who dont do much on their travels. But the usual suspects were talking about the team as if it was the same one that surrended meakly to Oxford the other week...piss poor form chaps. e i e i e i o rolf

He hasn't but Belinda was seen diving into a sheep dip just as the police were loading Mr Glasses into a van.

Anyway, Belinda from Carlisle isn't the same as Belinda Carlisle.

There's a few regular posters who are very quick to comment when Pools get beat who still haven't said anything about the win...

Then again, as the long-suffering character John Cleese plays in Clockwise says,
"It's not the despair. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand."

Possibly, but when we lose there are plenty of regular posters who dont post.

But maybe others dont use that to point score?

Well in my case that's certainly true. In general I have no particular desire to bang on about how crap we are every time we get beat - though there's been a few times when I haven't been able to stop myself.

Would have thought it was a bit easier to find the motivation to celebrate a win though?

Good point - especially in the days when we used to win fairly regularly, but as that was the first win in 10 attempts a lot of people thought it was worth a mention!

The come down if we get beat Saturday will be considerable, and it's back to square one if we don't get a result at Tranmere - but anyone diving in to say 'I told you so' should perhaps ask themselves whether being proved right is really the most important thing?

Incidentally, none of this applies to any fan (and I can think of at least one) who has been driven to such a dark view of things by genuine despair for the future of the team he loves. That's why I used the Clockwise quote on my first post.

Have to admit I was buzzing after the game, seemed like the first time in ages I'd really enjoyed the full 90 minutes. Speaking to people after the game there was even mention of us staying up !

I think once the euphoria has died down one takes stock and tries to be a bit more objective. You sort of hope Saturday was ome sort of corner turned, but how many times have we said that. Harrison we all know is a class act, and while there's no doubting the two new lads played well, people were falling over themselves to laud Schmeltz and Featherstone after one home game as well. This is why I generally make a point of seeing players play many times before passing judgement.

Part of me thinks Saturday might be the beginning of something, part of me ( the more realistic part ? ) knows the opposition didnt turn up Saturday and I shouldn't read too much into one performance. Were we really really good, or was it the fact they were so bad that made it seem that way. It's hard to get too buoyed by one win when we are so far adrift of everyone else, which is the really frustrating part. You want to feel happy but its hard when you know that to survive we probably have to win another 10 games between now and the end of April.

All that said I have noticed a few people who normally post when we get beat haven't been on the board for a few days. Whats bizarre is that the people who moan about them moaning are moaning that they haven't posted. I'd have thought they would be enjoying some respite !

I am!
Totally agree with your post by the way - I must be feeling ill.
It was a good win, and yes the opposition were poor but still had to be beaten. Morecambe weren't up to much either but did enough to take home the points.
As good as the three points felt - and I had a good weekend on the back of it - we are still in very deep trouble. We can get out of it but have to start showing the same sort of determination every game now. A couple of new signings, freshening things up and keeping people on their toes would help. Still some weak links out there who need to be taken out of the firing line.
