He definitely looks a better centre half than a left back. He is not the biggest of lads but he has a heck of a leap on him.

He's played both when I've seen him, though probably more LB than CB. Of course that can be as much to do with the group of players available to you as anything else. If you've got four lads who can play centre half but a shortage of left footed players then you're going to get a centre half filling in at full back. It's useful education for Jones as it increases his versatility, but I'm pretty sure that he's always been viewed as predominantly a central defender who can also play left back rather than vice versa.

I wonder if Jones was being played in the same way Hartley was as a young centre half, left footed, not very tall for a CB, so he was played at left back. Looks like he will grow very nicely into the role of a dominant centre back.

He looks in the same mould as Hartley too, aggressive and likes to get stuck in. I thought his positional play yesterday in difficult conditions was excellent and him and Harrison have got a good early understanding and covered each other well.

Hopefully he doesnt have as decadent a taste in after shave or view himself as chocolate as Hartley seemingly does.

The two centre backs seem to compliment each other quite well and both seem to have some pace. I actually can't remember with of them making a defensive error.

I wish Jones would play it simple though as his long passing is on par or worse than Nelsons.

Hopefully like you say he doesn't have the same passion for rucking in bus stop as Hartley sorry I meant susceptibility to conjunctivitis

I think they are, better than his previous ones, once of twice a week when it's about 4 in the morning where he lives I am suspecting copious amounts of drink have been taken and he goes to Town on the Bunker but mainly Chip.

Jones is actually a good left back, seen him play a lot for the reserves in that position.
Dont forget he is still young and inexperienced, and the games he has played at LB were his first 3 or 4 in the proffessional game.
Check out the exeter highlights on pools player to see what he is capable of in that position.
I think he would just need a bit of time, seem to remember him keeping the sheffield united winger quiet also.

So why do you spend so much of your life talking about me on 2 different message boards ?

Anyway, great start for anyone waiting for "self opinionated " or " arrogant prick " in Bunker Bingo.

It was narcissistic prick, hopefully nobody called house on the arrogant prick square
