Regardless of his crime I think we should have signed him.

Let's see how many goals he gets and what we could have had.

There is nothing to suggest we would have been able to afford him to be honest even though he may have had to take a big drop in wages

We had no chance anyway let's face it I don't think he'd fit into our wage structure...

I don't think he's in any position to negotiate wages. He will get nowere near what he was on at sheff utd. Oldham will be just a stepping stone

Like RB says it's just a st epping stone. He needs a club to take him on. Once that's done, if he's the player he was he'll be away in a year or so and no one will care who signs him.

There was fierce opposition on the message boards that undoubtedly influenced the clubs decision not to sign Evans. As we all know the club reads the boards.

I would have given him a chance but with the 50/50 split in opinion of fans willing to give him a chance or not I just don't think he's worth it now. With fans threatening not to attend, sponsors pulling out etc

I reckon Oldham would sign Jihadi John if he had a decent left peg on him.

Oldham unlike us realise they are a shit club and town, therefore are handicapped when it comes to having the chance of a successful football club, hence they will not pass up on the opportunity of getting something for nothing, like a footballer way above their station , who they couldn't of dreamed of getting on a level playing field.

I remember the Vic screaming it at him when he played for Sheff Utd against us...( yes we did used to play them even when we had cut price season tickets)..

Be funny if he turned up for training even though Oldham told him not to.

They have just released a statement saying they won't be releasing a statement.

Still looks like they want to sign him.

This is becoming a joke. Everyone is getting involved. An online Mirror poll suggests that more people are in favour of him getting a chance back in the game than are against it. Trouble is they are not the ones organising the petition for the whole country to sign.
Wonder what the outcome would actually be if it only the season ticket holders at OAFC who were asked the question?

One of the sponsors interviewed looked like a local welding firm, I don`t think the amount of sponsorship lost against the free advertising and goals for would stack up against him, sign him up and fuck the outraged, they will have something else to be outraged about the next day and forget the fracas at Oldham

Oldham only 3 points from play offs ched could be the one who scores the goals to get them promoted.

The club wont be bothered about the 20000 people who signed the online petition not to sign him.Nearly all of them never been to a football game or support oldham.

I was originaly sat on the fence regards him signing for Pools as I was desperate for a goal scorer to get my club out of the shit but my conscience said would I want to give my backing and support to someone who is a dirty lowlife scumbag, thankfully my conscience won.

Morally this is a tough one how ever we have an open door for Immigration and a lot of these people are entering the country with out back ground checks to work in what Profession they chose and if concerns are raised we are told we are racist or its against their human rights. Ched Evans is been crucified for his crime in which he has gone to jail for and served his time.
The allegations against Prince Andrew at the moment if they are found to be true will their be such an outrage and will it stop him from being a Prince

Sick of reading about Evans, the club have said publicly they had no intention of signing him, he was never going to sign for us, what more do people fucking want ?

Yep. Have any of those saying what a good signing he would have been, even stopped to think for one second that it was yet another charade from Pools

Pools have got no fucking intentions whatsoever of signing anyone any good

Wrong. They did want to sign Evans, but only offered him £300 a week.

He wouldnt get out of bed for that, very apt, so the club have a win win.

nd were never gonna sign him.

Ched Evans was getting interviewed and was asked if he knew the best way to Oldham.

"Around the throat after a bottle of vodka" wasn't the reply that was expected...... bbolt

I'll get me coat.
