Do You Know Why I Follow Hartlepool United????

I started following/supporting Pools because they weren't very good and cos I'm from Hartlepool....they needed my support....but....there's always a 'but'....

....but even in the 'dark' days I felt as if I was part of Hartlepool United....and you know what....I was!!!!

I never paid into to a Pools game....nicked in....the first game I actually paid in was v Luton in the FA Cup 1988 and I've still got the programme and ticket....I'm actually in the programme with Johnny Giro hanging on the fence at darlo!!!!
But we were part of the Club....on first names terms with Ron the Groundsman when he hoyed us out for nicking in reserve games!!!!

Now....I don't feel as if I belong....OUR Club has been took away from us!!!!
When was the last time someone posted on here that they were talking to X player....when was the last time that somone said they spoke to the Chairman????

Cooper has walked....good....time for Collins....but when was the last time YOU felt Hartlepool United was YOUR Club????

was fortunate enough to work for Harold Hornsey before he sold the club to IOR

Loved chatting to him on a Monday morning about the game - invariably we always had disagreements - he would be buzzing saying it was like watching Real Madrid... I would disagree

Been following Pools for 24 years - and today it really hurts

I was there under Gibson, but you sensed something would turn up and it did

was there in the early 90's - when the football was so bad, the workman building the CK stand never stopped to watch the game - have had trips to Mansfield, Lincoln, Hull (when Hull were shit and played at Boothferry park), Macclesfield - when we lost to a penalty for a handball that wasn't

Saw some great football, saw some bad - but today I really think we're heading to oblivion and if Ken doesn't sell up to someone who wants to back us, or pump some cash in - then we've got a few years of non league football ahead of us at best.

I left the North East years ago for work - and have always kept in touch - heading to games when and where I could - but in the last few years he seems to have completely cut the fans off

remember Hornsey talking to the fans at an away televised game due to the actions of the stewards? trying to calm them and placate them, and find a solution..... can you see Ken doing that?

I was driving home from the Tranmere game the other week and to preserve petrol (because it's a fooking long way) I was sat in the inside lane of the A1 doing 70 when I noticed a car next to me out of the corner of my eye and it was just matching my speed....glanced to my right and it was Neil Austin smiling and waving at me and my lad...he started tapping something on the passenger seat...and up popped Scott Flinders (he must've been getting something from the footwell) - both were smiling / waving and my lad thought it was cool as did I because they didn't have to do that. Surely most other players would've driven on by and not given us a second glance. Cheers Ozzy and Flinders

I remember getting the No6 bus home in 1970 late after a match...end of season and me a daft kid gets on the bus and ends up sitting next to John Gill........who got off with me at Tynebrooke ....... ...his misdss met him off the bus with a white poodle...I didn't know if it was the family pet or she'd brought him s snack....hard as nails.

Mutley, I follow Hartlepool because my brother made me go to watch them in 1988 against Newport County (before they wound up) in a 0-0 draw.

I have had some of the most memorable moments of my life being a Pools supporter and it's definitely been more of a plus to me than being one of the fish and "supporting" the likes of Newcastle/Sunderland or Borer.
