Stupid idea I know but Jack Barmby has not got a kick at Leicester. Could he not benefit by another loan spell somewhere he knows !

I'd be surprised his old man would want him to come back here after some of the embarrassing shit he got from some sections of our 'support'

He'd walk into the team at the mo n make a massive difference, I liked him, just think our fans aren't 'ready' for that type of player yet.

The rest of the world is like.

I always thought he'd be better used as a striker in the Luke James kind of role. I'd have him back like a shot.

We saw last season what Williams could do for the side just in the space of a few games.

A Boro supporting mate of mine from work is a close family friend of Luke Williams parents and knows Luke very well.

He told me that Luke loved playing for Pools last season and wanted to come back. He also reckons he is desperate to play first team football. As he isn't getting much of a look in still at Boro (2 or 3 sub appearances I think), should we not be pulling out all the stops to get the likes of him and Barmby back? We do have money now, surely we could contribute something towards their wages.

When I saw the title of the thread I was hoping you had some info on a new manager.

If Barmby and/or Williams came back I'd be over the moon.

Great prospect and I couldn't believe some people on the terraces thought otherwise. Doubt we'll see him again like unless he goes to the Boro...

Pools should be moving heaven and earth to make this happen

My father in law is a Boro fan. He got tickets to watch a Boro home match last season (can't remember the opponents) and had the opportunity to go into the player's lounge (or whatever it's called at Boro) after the game. Luke Williams was in there. He asked him if he'd ever be going back to Pools. Williams came back with "I'll never be going back to Hartlepool". Take of that what you will. Perhaps he was confident of getting into the first team at that time and perhaps his perspective has now changed after being left on the fringes again. I'd wet myself if he came back to the club.

I'd have both Williams and Barmby back in a heartbeat. Both players would be miles above anything we have just now.

The stick Barmby got last season was ridiculous. Yes, he was raw. Things might not have happened for him on occasions and his decision making may have been poor sometimes, but that was why he was with Pools, to try and learn from that. The goal he scored against Morecambe showed just how good he is.
