100% have been the trialists this week, confirmed by Cooper this morning.

I presume he's not signing either the way Nick Loughlin's tweet was worded. Maybe not I dunno!

I'm not sure why you need to have someone like him on trial surely the fact he scored 4 goals in 60 odd appearances for Colchester tells you he isn't what we need.

Saying that he'll probably sign for them and score the only goal he ever does for Carlisle on Saturday.

But that's where we are, non league players willing to play for next to nothing to prove themselves, past it journeymen or free kids on loan.... Exciting times violin confised

We're fucked, Cooper doesn't have the experience or nous and IOR aren't giving us the backing.

I don't know where we go from here, looking at players like these isn't going to help.

We are like the last people to arrive at a buffet at the end of a party, picking up scraps that either nobody has touched or they have taken a bite and put it back.

We don't even shop at poundland, their stuff is new. Rumours are that Cooper's been seen begging outside of the salvation army shop for their donations.

I've had enough of giving 30 odd year old strikers a chance. We're selling our best players and bringing shit in.

Pools have had enough chances.

Yes and also the same Jordan Laidler who was on trial at Carlisle pre-season but knocked back and then signed for West Auckland in August.

West Auckland who are in the division below Darlington.

Is this the level we're at?

Yes, I know, give him a chance, never kicked a ball blah blah blah.

If we'd have taken him on trial 2 month ago when he'd just been released by Sunderland nobody would have batted an eyelid.

It's ok, Laidler will save us. Every club in the league pyramid passed on him until he ended up below Darlo but now he has his chance as someone with a real eye for talent is looking at him.

Either that or he'll be willing to accept £300 a week.

The whole situation reminds me of a joke I heard a few years ago when West Brom were being managed by Alan Buckley.... along the lines of "Alan Buckley has been arrested for criminal damage - apparently he was trying to get 20 Players out of a Cigarette Machine...."

You know where you heard it when it's changed to "Colin Cooper".....

Considering he's just back from injury I thought he had a very good game last Saturday, probably his best game of the season so far. I think once him and Brobbel build up a bit more understanding we'll do well down that right hand side because Brobbel works hard and will cover when Duckworth bombs on.

Hopefully someone can come in and do a job, would there be any harm in offering players like these a short term deal.

Whats James Poole up to ? Is he still at Bury? I think he would offer more goal scoring threat than Franks?

Pools turned us down. Why would he suddenly want to come now?

He's probably earning more at bury

Jonny Rowell - did he come back to England or is he still playing at a decent level in Belgium?

James Poole - He may not want to come back but if he isn't featuring at Bury or on a short term deal there maybe a loan could be a possibility.

Poole averages 4 or 5 goals a season so he'd fit right in.

I still think that with a run in the team up front Poole would get 1 in 3 at least. Too much messing about with his position and having him in and out prevented him reaching potential...

Cooper gave him a run in his best position for a while last season, he had one or two good games then completely fizzled out and we brought in Luke Williams to show him how to play in that position. He lacked hunger and desire to play at this level and ultimately didn't get a run because he rarely did enough that said 'pick me' Loads of ability but it takes a lot more than that. Plus he's not in a month of Sunday's to end up here as a)he is at Bury and b) he turned a contract down on the type of money we now offer so it's a bit pointless banging on and on about him as is your wont.

Poole has a much nicer bird if I remember rightly, oriental little thing.

Quiet handy at the self service too, so he's worth having back for that.

Actually fuck it I am going to say something.

I have a theory.

Between wrapping in football and the Pools job Cooper was cryogenically frozen. Either that or had a conversation with Stephen Pears and slipped into a coma. He thinks it's about 2006.

Why would have a conversation with Pears make him slip into a coma?

I'm guessing it could cause if caught off guard someone's body to shut down out of boredom. Like Doctor Fox though I'm not a real doctor so I could be closer to the mark with my first theory.

This line:

"he was in Tuesday and liked what he saw. He is keen to try and do something."

HE liked what HE saw?! NO Cooper, that's not how it works!

We are signing anyone that wants to come and play for us!

It's was attempted satire Tree, humour? Laughter? Not to be taken literally, I'll let you into a secret. I don't think that actually happened (don't tell anyone though)

I've probably lost you.
