Renamed in memory of John Hawksworth, a stalwart member who passed this day 2nd August 2020. RIP Mr Monkeybutt.
Sadly we must add the name of Kevin Minton, Aka Mr Ripper who passed 30/6/22. Kev was also Mr politically incorrect but a nicer lad you could never meet.

I really enjoyed watching Monkhouse in a Pools shirt.
Not all the time obviously but generally when he played he was really entertaining.

Been a good player for Pools.
At least we know when inevitably he scores against us next season, he'll respectfully do the whole 'not celebrating thing' as he normally does against previous clubs.
(Seriously good luck Mr Monkhouse but keep it down to one lap of the ground a badge kiss and turn to the Millhouse pointing at your name)

Wish him all the best. Always good to watch when he was in his best wind up mood, one of the few who could really wind up the opposition.

Yeah, I liked him. I liked Walton too post-Xmas.

Good luck Monks. Always loved seeing him wind players up and especially after they
Had fouled him and he spent the next ten minutes seeking the best opportunity to get his revenge (which he always did)
By the way did he actually elbow that guy after about 5 seconds the other week in front of the Milhouse?
I'd recommend a more stealthy plan than googling 'afternoon tea dog'.

It's quite amazing he only got sent off twice for Pools.
He did the type of sly fouls Pools players rarely partake in or get away with!

I also loved his double sweatbands.

cause of much frustration over the last few seasons, but on his game he was a very entertaining player. My memories of him will stem from that first season, he was simply fantastic.
Good luck Andy.

Its got to be nicer as a player to be able to see out your career closer to home, same as Humphries really.
Monky was a great player on his day and generally a consistent performer, I can't remember him being terrible in many games.
Lard.

Best of luck monky. There aren't many players who we release that I'm sorry to see go.
Ps It would be great if someone could put together a montage a goals from him on YouTube.

Not sure if it was Pools decision or his, heard a rumour a few weeks back he'd agreed to sign for a lower league club south of Leeds.

Very decent footballer who has done his bit for Pools over the years. Good luck. Should have behaved himself better at Rochdale though, not that I bear a grudge at all.

Good Luck and All the Best Andy ... I enjoyed the Monkey Magic!
All participation is optional and you'll not have an AK pushed down your throat if you're not in uniform

Not gonna miss him at all, awful for the past three seasons. Never been happier to see a player released!

Massive fan of Monkhouse, was a bit hit and miss at times but at times gave us that bit of aggression we needed in the team.
Arguing with idiots is rather like trying to play chess with a pigeon, it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board and flies back to its flock to claim victory.

I think Monkhouse was a bit of an unsung hero this season. Hasn't been his best over the past couple of seasons, but this season I thought he was fantastic. Would have been happy to see him stay another season and help the younger lads along too. Good luck Monky

Yes he did. A sly one to the side of the head. Not quite as good as the time he did the West Ham player in the first minute of the FA Cup game though..

Very strange comment. Apart from the fact he's had a decent season we have had some awful players over the last 3 years. Give me Monkhouse over Howard, Luscombe, Behan etc anyday
