Just been to collect my car, in for it's MOT today, nothing to pay apart from test fee!

I've been driving for almost 40 years, and it has never happened before. But I've never owned a car less than 5 year old, which could explain it.

Nice one! My car is 28 this year and it's MOT is due in a few weeks. If it just has the inevitable advisory for corroded rear brake pipes then I will be over the moon.

It's happened to me twice with my old Golf and once with the one I've got now. A couple of times all I had to pay for was wiper blades or brake pads or something piffling like that. I think this year might be it for the current Golf. It is 15 years old like.

Find a new garage. It's rare for mine or the missus' car to have any problems with the MOT. We both used to have an old Corsa each and our current cars are 12 and 7 years old.

On a similar note, I part exed my car recently and have not received any paperwork to say I'm no longer its owner. They do usually send some confirmation don't they?

You will have the paperwork from the dealer and they will have sent the relevant part of the V5C to Swansea saying you have sold to trader
