Getting into bother in the Snail. For picking a young lass up at bus stop to take her to school as bus was out of service. The mother should be angry at her kid for getting into the car not at stagecoach in my opinion, why didnt she just ring her mam or dad and ask to take her to school?

Maybe they don't drive Compo????

I personally think it was a stupid idea by Stagecoach but with good intentions!!!!
Maybe they should invest in a couple of Official Mini Buses to cover for future problems like this!!!!

Even by publishing the article they have just let every sick peodophile in the town know that by getting hold of a stagecoach jacket, you can easily get kids in your car.

Stagecoach are dammed if the do and dammed if they dont. If the driver had dropped the elderly lady off after the child there might have been a different outlook on this. They saw the mistake and went to help people out. Granted everyone can see the dangers in this but they where trying to rectify the problem they caused.

I might feel the need to raise this point with the bus company but why contact the local rag? Bizarre.

My mates comment on the story was brilliant:

" if someone was hell bent on picking up kids from bus stops they could just buy a 2nd hand bus. Then they'd even pay you for the privilege too (unless they've got a megarider, the crafty swines)"

The company won't have vehicles just sitting about just in case.

As has been said why the need to ring the mail.

The driver cocked up and didn't go to the amended start point, when the company realised they tried to rectify the problem and get flack for it.

The girl could always have refused and got the next bus and still got to school on time

Kids don't get fiddled by people who aren't kiddy fiddlers every day, the paper will be massive if everyone phones up.
