I don't care one way or the other. When I smoked I never smoked in a car when non smokers were in. and only ever did if the driver/owner lit up. This tory actually makes a fair point

Former Children’s minister Tim Loughton asked what happened if police found a 17-year-old smoking at the wheel. And the backbencher demanded to know whether the Government would criminalise pregnant women who smoke because their babies “are in an even more confined space”.

Not bothered either way but I think it will make a lot of people switch to the Electric Tabs....like many many ex smokers have anyway which is a good thing....over 2 years now since I went Electric!!!! :-)

But if the number of users of the Electric Tabs keeps going up as it is I can see the Government finding a way to ban them!!!! rakxe

Give it 18 months and the pharmaceutical company lobbyists will have leant on the Government so much that they will need to be 'regulated' ie by the likes of Pfizer, Glaxo and AstraZeneca.

Watch out for news stories about counterfeit/cheaply make electronic tabs which come from Asia, which aren't tested/could cause cancer etc, soon to be followed by legislation to 'sort it out'.

So a pack of twenty at say five pounds become unavailable as the electric tab shops all have to close, and everyone is forced to buy branded ones from 'regulated' outlets at a tenner.

The government gets a nice slice of tax revenue, and the pharma companies get their noses in the trough.

Are they not a better option than proper tabs?

Perhaps, but it's still keeping the addiction alive, which isn't great, is it?

Have to hand it to the missus like who smoked about 20 a day when she found out was pregnant stopped instantly and hates seeing people who are pregnant smoke. How can you as you want to do best for your kids and if they are born with an affliction e.g asthma then you want to know that you while pregnant havent "caused" it so to speak.

Agree with Mr Nottingham pfizer, GSK, GE healthcare will be doing all they can to regulate these.

The Electric Tabs only contain Nicotine which isn't bad for you....only addictive but you can get lower strengths to wean yourself off!!!! Normal tabs contain allsorts of shite that cause cancer and produce stinky toxic smoke!!!!
There is no reason to have nicotine in tabs....the only reason it is in cigarettes is to get you addicted....nice!!!! :-(

The mutt is spot on. E cigs are hopefully going to see the end of traditional cigarettes. God knows where out government will get all its revenue when it happens though. Petrol prices to double probably. Or a breathing tax. A tom tit tax?

they'll put sperm detectors in the WC outlet lines and declare a Ham Shank tax
It will also be able to detect it in sock washings from the laundry waste

Guaranteed winner

I can't give a link but John Cooper Clark did a poem probably 25 years ago called summat like 'Bring Back Hanging,' which seems like how the UK is now.

Anybody know it??

'Read the papers, hum drum, Henly Regatta, page one...' sctatchinghead

I'm sure I read that those e-cigarette things were found to contain carcinogens. Then again it was in the paper.

This one?
SUSPENDED SENTENCE...

Read the paper - humdrum
Henley Regatta - page one
Eat die - ho hum
Page three - big bum
Giving a lunatic a loaded gun
He walks - others run
Thirty dead - no fun
Foreigners feature as figures of fun
Do something destructive chum

Sit right down - write a letter to the Sun
Say... "Bring back hangin' for everyone"

The took my advice - they brought it back
National costume was all-over-black
There were corpses in the avenues and cul-de-sacs
Piled up neatly in six-man stacks
Hanging from the traffic lights and specially made racks
They'd hang you for incontinence and fiddling your tax
Failure to hang yourself justified the axe
A deedely dee, a deedely dum
Looks like they brought back hangin' for everyone

The novelty's gone - it's hell
This place is a - death cell
The constant clang of the funeral bells
Those who aren't hanging are hanging someone else
The peoples pay - the paper sells
It's plug ugly - sub-animal yells
Death is unsightly - death smells
Swingin' Britain - don't put me on
They're gonna bring back the rope for everyone
