The Premiershit has become a promised land, not because of the quality of the teams in it, but because of the riches it offers. The Championship play-off final must be worth at least 70 million to the winning team now.

I have mates who are long-standing supporters of Norwich, Stoke and West Brom, and all of them would prefer to be outside the Premiership so they aren't part of the circus, paying pver fifty bar to watch their team at the London clubs etc.

My Norwich mate says the best ever season for him was when they were in the third tier playing us and other 'proper' teams. Says a lot really, even though they did piss the peagie that year.

The FFP (or the rich ol boy clubs united rule as it is) is being challanged again by Karl Heinz Rummenigge and PSG. Now I agree with him here about if your having a rule you must enforce it however how can this be just with Barcelona and Real Madrid being owner basically by banks (so they cant show their accounts as customers would go mental) and Man City etc being run by a country / state effectively. The "old school" are kicking up a stink about the new boys moving in and trying to stop it, but they wanted this in the first place.

Also I hear the European league is being pushed ahead again by the president of Barcelona so the FFP is really a stealth tactic to move this agenda forward and prevent the teams on the fringes (e.g Everton and Spurs) from ever joining the boys club at the top with monopoloising tv rights etc. TBH I cant wait till this happens and the top 5-6 go and play over in Europe this would open up the league more and lest be honest more people in the UK would watch this as how many really watch the Champions League.

Yep, there's a lot of truth in the saying "Be careful what you wish for."

It's not that long since Rangers and Celtic thought they were champagne clubs destined for the European elite. Now they're so far in the clarts that Celtic's big signing in the transfer window was an English League One player.

Chelsea arent even a big club for one.

When Abramovich eventually gets stabbed by a poisoned umbrella, they will be skint.

I love the delusion from the bigoted ones! I can just picture Europe's top clubs just saying to themselves, " I know what we need is a couple of sectarian clubs to chant songs of hate and religious bollocks"!

I'm with Mr Compo on this one. Plus I suspect a lot more people.

The sooner they fuck off and we go back to a Football League self sustaining competiton, the better for me.

These fuckers drain the talent, steal the cash and flood the league with foreign players that bring nowt.

The TV market is flooded. Sky, BT, Al Jazeerah can suck Rupert off but if it can become a simple British competition, the terrestrial channels have enough to sort it out at much less money and can give decent coverage.

If you want to see European, pay the money.

None of this can happen until they make the European league so I say get on with it.

I could not be more in agreement than that, even if I didn't know how to be in agreement at all

If the TV money in football suddenly walked, the rich clubs backers would walk and I reckon for a few years till the naturally big sides found their feet clubs like ours would be the most secure.

Oh do so let this happen. I've been advocating it for years. The only proviso is that they ring fence it off and we never see the participating clubs in the English leagues again.

Is that the new President of Barcelona or the one who just had to resign because he is accused of stealing half the cash from the Neymar deal?

I'd also favour a European League as soon as possible- the mega clubs can play each other as often as they like and everybody else can enjoy properly competitive domestic leagues.
