Didnt watch any of it to be honest apart from Sherlock last night. Anyone recommend anything on the iplayer as i missed the following and want to know if they are any good;

Idris Elba King of Speed
ben fogle james cracknell Arabian desert
David Blaine real or magic
Speed with Guy Martin

was going to watch open all hours but everyone said it was crap.

I watched David Blaine last night, definitely worth a watch. The guy is mental.

The Thirteenth Tale was pretty good, on BBC2 last Monday.

I watched Sherlock but it's beginning to get a bit too ridiculous for me. It's not so much the 'great escape' explanations, more that has Sherlock seems to have developed sociopathic tendencies.......howling with laughter because he'd managed to convince Watson they were about to be blown to pieces in 1.28 minutes???

The TV over Christmas has been appalling.

I have a theory that all the people who used to make good tele are either dead or locked up for noncing.

I'm not sure being off your tits on cocaine leads you to convince someone he's facing certain death and then guffaw because he believes you!

Maybe it's just a personal reaction. I hate stupid practical jokes IRL, so I'm not enchanted to see them in entertainment.

Yeah, the new Moriarty was brilliant. The character of Watson is getting a bit irksome thought. He says 'What?' far too often. Surely there should be other responses but perplexity.

Don't know about the chap in specs. He's probably the mask of somebody else.

Concurring. I bought the radio times before christmas, you know the traditional two weeks thingy.

By Boxing day I threw it out. Because of Demand TV there is just no point anymore.

the amount of times we turned the tele back to dave to watch Mock the week, or some other old programme, just summed up how bad the TV was.

Garbage. Thank god for DVD's.

christmas tv was summed up by channel 5's 9pm christmas day showing of the michael jackson fillum : this is it. What an awful choice for christmas day tv, behind the scenes footage of a tour that never happened, how festive!

I dont think i watched anything on tv at all, thankfully i'd saved up a few yank shows to watch during their christmas breaks.

Like I said, I threw out the radio times on boxing day.

I dont think the usual channels try any more.

Whilst i agree fully with that madjohn, i rarely watch owt at the proper time its all recorded n watched later, christmas time was traditionally the time the family would sit down n watch summit together on the box.

One of my earliest memories is the family sitting together at Xmas to watch Wallace and Gromit - The Wrong Trousers.

The eldest has sussed out how to 'order' programmes from the past off the Tivo. So my Christmas viewing was predominantly episodes of Pingu. Which I quite like as it happens.

The David Attenborough program on Sky 1 the other day was canny, it was all about bringing exhibits from the Natural History Museum to life
