He played well, I can only assume him making a couple of mistakes and not scoring in his first start for the club makes him the worst player ever to pull on the shirt for the club.

Some of our fans are sadly wankers and go out of their way to prove it.

In fairness to Mr Mad I thought Rodney looked out of his depth yesterday. Apart from a few nice touches in the first half he drifted out of the game and gave the ball away much too easily for my liking.

However, it was his first full start, and the guy is desperate to make a go of things. Haven't seen him play for the ressies so can't really judge and wouldn't want to do so based on one appearance.

the fact is, he is not ready for league football. He needs to be out of the side cos we need Monkhouse back in there. And Holden in before him if needs be

He should be a last resort, if there is nobody else to pick

He has a LOT of development to do, he is not yet a league standard footballer, no matter what anyone on here says

But he plays for Hartlepool United FC, and will get my full support whilst he does. There were quite clear and audible anti-Rodney shouts at Morecambe, I heard them, you heard them, and they were bang out of fucking order. The lad had a good game until the second half, no need for what he got from some SUPPORTERS. And certainly no need for some of the not nice people on here calling him a liability. He wasn't, Endof.

couldn't agree more. what IS it about some of our fans who have to find someone to vent their bile on. He is our player, our manager has decided he's worth a contract and a starting place at Morecambe. Who the fuck do these tossers think they are ? and what the fuck do they know about managing a squad of players though a long season ?

cranks to a man :angry-tappingfoot:

Some bellend, at the top of his voice, trying to make sure people knew his bilious feelings."WHAT THE FUCK DOES HE OFFER THIS TEAM? GET HIM OFF COOPER" very loudly on around 60 minutes.

It's pretty awful, but a waste of time saying anything, because people who do this are probably either beyond reason or off their heads on drink or dope.

I think they should be just put out of the ground, though. The right to free speech doesn't include the right to abuse people, or hack off everyone within hearing distance who's paid good money to get into the match.

Hardly a mature response is it? if you are suppose to be a moderator then you should know better. what gives a moderator the right to call anyone thick? We have yet to see a lot of Rodney so I can only base my opinion of him on what I have seen and he is hardly league two quality. If he was that good then surely he would have been given more game time by the manager?

He's had a handful of sub appearances and one start, he was abused by our own fans during his first start for the club, people have slagged him off on here (including yourself) despite none of us having seen him as much as Cooper and Hignett have.

When did slagging off a player who didn't do a whole lot wrong as the team won an away game against a higher placed club become so socially acceptable among fans of the club he plays for?

Oh and who exactly did I call thick? You made an assumption I just left a glib comment on a forum without any direct link to a specific poster.

I think he tried his best, and wanting him to do well is admirable. But he hasn't got what it takes at this moment, and selecting him before Monkhouse or Holden weakens the team

As for the shouting to get him off, yes that's pointless and counter productive and stupid

But the fact remains he is not up to the required standard right now. He needs more work in the reserves and on the training ground.

He has something to build on, but it doesn't knit with the team at this moment

Cooper and Hignett have more work to do

Totally agree parmo. I have my heart in my mouth everytime the ball goes near him. He is either very nervous or lacks a
basic touch. Unfortunately you can't coach a first touch into players so we will just have to wait and hope for improvement.
Makes sunday's performance look even better actually!

If they made reference to his race they would be so what's the difference ?? Throw these "so called" supporters out or even better someone bigger than them threaten to rearrange their face unless they shut the fook up ... They'd probably respond to the second option more...

5th post on the thread only one of those threads was against the player. Now it doesn't take a lot of working out who your post is directed to. Whether you deny it or not the implication is there

but slagging a player off on the basis of one appearance IS thick. and anyone who does it should expect to be branded thick as fucking mince, especially as we're enjoying a purple patch under a new manager who has shown almost exclusively good judgement on match days. to feel the need to single out a young lad making a rare start in fantastic team appearance involving gaining 3 points away from home just shows a deep inadequacy. fuck whether he's a moderator, he's allowed an opinion. he hasn't sworn or made racist/sexist/homophobic remarks. he's simply defenced a young player at our club against unwarranted criticism from a minority of complete fucking idiots.

First of all may I personally thank alienlife for pointing out I am terminally thick,I have made an appointment at the docs and managed to get one for March.

I was in the seats at Morcambe and heard all the chants and comments, but please don't think this is the reason why I posted this one.

Yes this came after a brilliant win and three great points BUT it is MY opinion that if Rodders only got a short term deal then maybe just maybe we take a look a his small wages being lumped together with anything going and bring the gadgy through the window who is stood outside waiting,IF indeed there is one or even need one.

BUT if he stays he will get my support as all those being picked to play and be part of the squad do,i am sorry to say that due to my pending illness I cannot always guarantee not getting carried away in the heat of the moment and make the odd stupid comments that's sends one or two on here to some kind of pathway only known to them.

Due to my illness and me being thick I will ask the doc when I get to see him for some extra chill pills and if ailienlife and all want to come and share them and suck on one or two to make us all one happy clappy bunch once again then feel free to get in touch and lets have a share out.

Jesus Wept, I could just about understand some of these comments if the kid was on Howardesque wages or in the team every week, but he isnt. He will be on peanuts and he's being used VERY SPARINGLY as back up.

Every club needs squad players who sit on the sidelines most of the season but dont spit their dummy out, get on with the rest of the players , and come in and work their bollocks off when required.

What next a thread stating Rafferty should be released as its a waste of a wage ?

Some of these so called experts want to have a long hard think back to the Cardiff season when the likes of Appleby, Craddock, etc came in when required and did a job. I doubt anyone was suggesting at the time these young lads were League One calibre or that they should be starting every game.

Monkhouse will be back in the side tomorrow and Rodney will probably drop back down to the bench. He will probably take it on the chin because everything Ive seen and heard suggests his attitude is spot on. And if he is required to come on for the last 5 or 10 minutes to help kill a game off by chasing down opponents and lost causes Im sure he will do that too.

I'd much rather have someone like that around the club on £300 a week, than some of the wage theifs we have had of late.

Spot on.
