Steve Tupling, Mitch Cook and Cyril Knowles before they saw sense..

That also reminded me how much I used to hate Roger Thames calling us "Pool".

Good game that was, season Darlo went up.We went on a good run after that game. Remember going straight from work to the Volunteers Arms for a quick pint before getting on the football special at the station.

Graeme Hedley missed a penner to make it 4-0 , then Torquay scored to make it 3-1

Don't know how I remember some of this stuff, I can't remember what I had for tea yesterday

Hodge was my favourite, Harper second, between Stevenson and Poole for 3rd place. Did great on the commercial side for us.

Elvis, was that the season the club produced a special sort of review of the season/brochure/programme at the end of the season? or was it 85/86. Was a good effort but it turned out to be a one off. Don't know what the thinking was behind it.

we are The main football club from Darlington with the same crest, nickname and team colours so we are exactly the same club that won the FA Trophy.

The main football club that doesn't even play in the town. And the FA trophy? 100+ years of history before that and that's what they think is their pinnacle? A non-league trophy!

I think the FA only made us a "new" club because they couldn't be arsed to listen to our case

See Rat Boy came u with this brilliant opinion:

I see "Darlington 1883" as Darlington FC.

I always have & I always will. We are NOT a new club, but the same one. We bought the history etc, therefore we are Darlington Football Club.

That's great logic from the rodent featured hapless fund raiser. With that logic MK Dons will always by Wimbledon...
