I was bowled over by how well Pools played at Morecambe, however I thought one player apart the little guy up front who played with James Pools at Man City they were dire. Not only that, they clearly had done no homework on Pools as Franks looked a world beater when anyone who watches even one Pools game knows he wants to drop his shoulder and get to the by line, against these he just seemed to do it with ease every time when most teams have a plan for this move. Duckworth loves a forward charge and dribble and again they were waiting for him to make a pass and giving him ample opportunity to bomb forward and got into a panic not expecting him to do carry the ball.
When Baldwin & Burgess got the ball the defence and midfield of Morecambe all immediately dropped deep as if expecting the League 2 hoof, allowing them to carry the ball which of course they love to do.

As I said I was delighted by yesterdays performance but anything but a Pools win would have been a travesty, don't want to take anything away from Pools but apart from brute strength and running they had nothing.

Burton Albion and Plymouth are the only other half decent football teams I've seen. Oxford beat us fairly comprehensively but that was more down to us being out muscled.

Nowt to beat Pools!

well if Flitcroft expects big hoof balls and sets his team up as Morecambe did, then Pools WILL get plenty of joy getting round the sides and playing it through them by running with the ball and people making forward runs. The one touch and passing and moving and getting Morecambe turning was great to watch. I think they have better defenders than Bury as well, so I'm hopeful we might just get our first 3 plus goals win this season

it would... but I'd love us to get a good win and up the goal difference a bit

Game in hand with two teams between us and the play-off places. Few teams above us with negative goal differences. Any win would do me like.
