There is a story in the Hartlepool Mail regarding an 81 year old man who was conned out of £1150 for non existent gardening work.
The sentence this worthless piece of scum received was a 12 months suspended jail sentence and 150 hours unpaid work.
I'm shocked this man wasn't sent to Jail.

Surely that's exactly the right punishment? He took money for no work: now he must work for no money.

If the sum is actually paid back in full. For such a despicable act surely deserves far greater punishment. I would question the morals of an employer to take on this man if this is really the case.
