So that's it for Pools and other clubs until January. No more signings, Cooper did tell us all not to expect any signings but as you probably know, he enquired about a number of attacking minded players.

One of which was Fulham's Muamer Tanković, the lad who we attempted to sign on Deadline Day, but Fulham weren't interested as they believed he could play at a higher level. The player was also not interested in moving up to the North only until January, he wants a long-term move but doesn't want to relocate.

Newcastle were a club who Cooper wanted to build a good relationship with, there was contact over Adam Campbell and Haris Vučkić. Campbell felt it wouldn't be worthwhile whilst Vučkić wanted to play at a higher level and wanted to go where someone he knew was so he signed for Rotherham with James Tavernier (Hope they like hoof-ball).

Given Cooper's quotes recently, he was doubtful about bringing some in as Howard's departure went on longer than expected, Pools had been talking to Howard for a number of weeks over a mutual agreement (hence why Howard hasn't been in the team) and Pools struggled to bring anyone in. However, Cooper is definitely keen to bring in some players, whether it be by loan or transfer, in the January transfer window and it will be interesting to see where we are in the league and how this effects us come January. We may have a winter window where Hartlepool United actually bring in some players!! And of course, after the transfer window, the loan window and free agents window will also be open.

In Cooper We Trust!!!

The player who wasn't willing to move North wasn't wank tankovic it was Rhys Murphy who is banging them in for Dagenham now. Cooper confirmed this before we played them the other week.

Further confirmation that he has an eye for a player.

It was to my trusty understanding that Pools made a loan bid until January for Tankovic on the 2nd of September, it was accepted but the player didn't want to move up North; even Ken Hodcroft confirmed in his programme notes. Rhys Murphy was the same situation.

So Fulham weren't interested but the player turned us down?

Edit; Not having a go by the way it's interesting stuff but that bit doesn't quite add up.

I might be wrong as my memory isnt what it used to be, but I dont remember Hodcroft naming the player.

He didn't but Colin Cooper did name Murphy before we played Dagenham and the circumstances seemed very similar.

Wasn't the alleged rumour on Tankovic also supposed to be a season long loan, which if memory serves me right goes all way back to August. One of the ones I gave no credence to. But that was just my opinion.

In case he doesn't answer, I'm 95% sure poolie24 doesn't make things up.
