Wouldn't surprise me if young luke joined him and graced Wembley in a cup final. I really rate the lad so highly. I think iv said this before

His first touch was superb today, having a first touch as good as that gives a player a vital extra few seconds to make sure they score with their second touch. Unbelievable improvement from the subdued player that started the season.

the lad is quality. The touch and control to almost play in Sweeney in the second half was superb, all done with his back to goal and two big defenders breathing down his neck. The lad is top drawer

Also Poole was superb again today

* edit... the only reason he didn't play him in was because of a last ditch interception of his pass... he had executed the skill already

he's clearly working hard on his game and full credit has to go to Cooper & Hignett. He's now, like a lot of others, playing at the top of his game.

Take it in and enjoy it because he won't be here long at this rate.

do we really need to entertain offers for him tho ? we've a settled team and are solvent. surely to god its gonna take big, big money for him to go ? another season with pools in league one would help his development much more.

Who's youngest to hit 15? 20?

Hopefully the 1m offer dosnt come in January

I'm hoping we hold out to the end of the season and then he goes to a Prelier League club who are happy to have one of those loan back for a year clauses built into the contract.

if he stays with us for the rest of the season and plays in every game, it is inconceivable that he would fail to get to 20

In fact, I would say it would be an impossibility... he gets into so many goalscoring positions from all kinds of situations in every single game, where he is always available to receive the ball, whereby it only takes a decent pass to play him in. Also the fact he picks the pockets of defenders dwelling on the ball so often he creates his own chances
He can get to the ball first in crowded areas and get his shot away under pressure and even when being fouled by blokes twice his size

He is an exceptional talent, and with Poole we have the two most mobile and skilful/tricky forwards playing together in the division in my opinion

thats why they struggle...they'd rather buy from abroad instead of whats right under their nose.when the great rob mckinnon played for pools he would have walked into either of those two teams and been the best player on the park

agree with that... but I think it's a snobbery thing to be honest. And it's representative of their fans

I spotted something on a Poolie's facebook page, which said that if Cattermole signed for Pools he would have instantly become the best player to have ever played for us!! WTF???I hope he wasn't being serious...... Delusion is spreading like wildfire!!!!

They also think 'he might be outstanding in the fourth division, but he won't be good enough for our Premiership team'. Luckily this is management as well as fans thinking this, and as a result we should Image still have Luke in the team after January!!

I'd rather have Walton and Dolan than Clattermole he's absolute bobbins and a liability.

I think that will only carry on in the future.Well with the Boro. So James may well see this season out (IMHO). The reason I think that the case is that Karanka has come from Spain to manage the Boro and he will ((IMHO) go to Spain to bring in any new recruits , it's the league he knows.

While Sunderland won't be willing to try an unproven type of player to get them out the crap they're in, taking into account they signed a lot of so called "for the future" players when Di Canio was there. Thats not to say a another championship team wont come in for him.But I think we'll have him for at least rest of season, unless silly money is offered and he willing to move away from the area.

This and more.

Remember Boro buying Heine Otto when they could have had Houchen for £50k in 1982?

I actually would HATE Luke James to go to Boro or Sunderland. He could do so much better than either of those ne'er-do-well set-ups.

Latest research done on pedwell shows born Durham second qtr 1908 so definitely rules him out.

i know who you mean tree, anyone with half a brain would, he was signed and put straight into the development squad so i dont think he's anywhere near the first team and i dont think he'll get anywhere near it this year, could be a good shout for a loan signing.

That's what I found yesterday after MJ's post about him, born april-june 1908.
