ive said for about a month that this is the magic figure we will need to achieve to win the league. pools now need 4 wins and a draw from their remaining 7 games to reach this figure and take the title.

after todays results only 3 other sides can get to 91 points. given their fixtures i cannot see milton keynes winning all their remaining 7 games to exceed 91 points.

swindon would have to win 7 of their 8 games to get to 91 points. this is another big ask.

walsall would need to win 6 of their last 7 to get to 91 points. they do have some soft looking fixtures coming up but have to travel to swindon on the last day of the season.

surely pools can do it this time?

better get 92 just to be safe!!

we devalue the language by using words like genius lightly.

however in this case the word was merited. pools will win 1-0 next week taking the title when walsall draw with swindon.

i know bristol rovers are unbeaten in 7 league games and have only 1 goal in 700 minutes, but this is our destiny. i kid you not.

Two draws. Rovers are the form team of the moment

havent swindon already butchered you once already this season ? i wouldnt fancy having to go there and get a result.

we beat bristol rovers 2-0 at their place and the scoreline flattered them. they know they need to beat us to maintain a play-off place, so they cant sit back and play for a point.

we struggle against teams on bad pitches. at the vic its a different story. we havent lost there for nearly 6 months. we will not lose, so you need at least a point.

Well it starts with two draws

that would be an astounding amount of points to get to finish second wouldn't it. carlisle only had 86 points as champs last year, yeovil 83 the year before. all credit to walsall for keeping it going. but I would have taken this at the start of the season, 1 match to go already promoted and still a realistic chance of the title.

Absolutely, it's a pity we can't cross the line together like marathon runners do, but I suppose there has to be a 'winner'. I think we're both winners already!
