I remember about 15 years ago at Lincoln I think it was, we kicked off and booted the ball straight into touch near their corner flag. No where near any of our players, it wasn't sliced or anything, it was like a kick to touch you see on rugby. It was at the height of the spread betting mania and I am convinced whoever did it was paid to do so.

le tissier talks about it in his book, he tried to kick it out of play to win a bit, but he sliced it n it never went out of play, he chased about like a mad man shitting himself to get the ball out of play, probably the only time he did.

How many times did we do that in the match? If we did it once, it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that's going to turn a game round.

There is stupid betting markets such as "will there be a throw in take place n the 1st minute?"

Having such markets just asks for trouble.

Aye, the spread bets were on things like the ball going into touch 0-5 seconds after kick off, 5-10 seconds, 10-15 seconds etc.

I'm convinced whoever put it out had to do so within 5 seconds.
